My account went dormant. I'm trying to close the account. Every month I call, ask for the proper forms to be sent. I've mailed forms, talked to severl people over 5 months, still can't close the account or lift the dormancy. Meanwhile they are charging fees, draining the account. Scam?Review from Robert W

Capital City Bank, ** is very unsupportive of customers in the event of unwarranted charges from fraudulent businesses. Other banks I have been with acted instantly on disputes and backed me up. Capital City did a report. Then I got a letter wanting a list more of questions answered and mailed back to them. Why wasn't I asked this stuff the first time I reported my problem. Pure Stall. We are 59 and 71 started bank accounts were absolutely free checking and absolutely free savings. Sounds great right? Well its not it cost **** each account!! We get maybe **** cent a month if we are over ****** but they are getting 694% off those pennies!!! When you get something you dont expect them to change it after a few years. Was even told that our accounts probably didnt update but we had been paying fees for over a year and still on our pc it is the same name as ever also on the app it says free checking and I got the app after the conversation with the banker. They stink for customers and when a fraud charge is approved without your permission they take forever and the lady says are you sure you didnt order online ********** 5 states away? No Im sure I would order from the town I live in!!!?
