*****, We want nothing more than to speak with you about your experience and how we can understand each other better. We understand your frustration and appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. Our goal is to provide exceptional service to all our customers, and I am disappointed to learn that we fell short of your expectations. That said, I feel it is necessary to provide a little different perspective than what is being communicated in your review here. Upon our arrival, we noticed and documented (have pictures) that your almost 50 year old gas furnace had been red-tagged and condemned by the gas company in 2021 for unsafe (less than perfect) operation. We proceeded to do a full and comprehensive inspection on the whole system, not just the thermostat, and diagnosis for the quoted $89 service fee (that we pro-actively refunded you because we felt it was the right thing to do since we did not end up performing the repair) we did not have to be asked to do that. We also pro-actively refunded your deposit immediately for the quoted and approved repairs once we found out the components needed were more expensive than expected and we could not find them from a regular parts house that warranties the components. We do generally shy away from installing client provided parts purchased online from unknown sources because we dont know where they came from and cannot guarantee its operation/ warranty and have no one to give it back to if it is effective or fails prematurely, and we do warranty all of our repairs. Additionally, we do use a straight forward or up front pricing model like 90+% of our industry does, so yes, we dont necessarily itemize every single piece of the repair.Much like ordering a meal at a restaurant, you order your options and receive goods and services at the menu price. While we dont itemize our costs to acquire the parts, schedule the appointments, have a technician perform the evaluation,specialty tools, training ,etc we do itemize all benefits, warranty, guarantees,and information relating to your system and repair. Ultimately after reviewing all of the data, pictures of the system, higher than anticipated repair costs, condition of the system, operational safety, liability, and potential future failure of an almost 50 year old furnace (very high) we made a judgement call to refund all of your money to you (without and before being asked to) and wish you the best with no hard feelings. The handful of clients that this has happened with over the past 33 years have actually appreciated that and certainly did not consider us crooksfor doing so.
We refunded 100% of this consumers money, walked away with nothing, to call us crooks for doing so is unfair to say the least...
