I contacted GoDaddy because errors were suddenly rendering on our website that they host. They said in order to fix this error, I would have to pay them an additional fee of $50 for a month of premium support. This is not something we had the funds to do as a non-profit but we put it on a card with the expectation that they would fix our issues as they said they would. I received an email saying there had been a fix. However the issues had not been fixed, and I wrote them to identify the remaining issues. She said I would have to open a new ticket to fix the website. I attempted to do so and was surprised to see that my "month" of premium support was actually just a one time credit and I would have to pay again for them to "fix the site." I called GoDaddy and the person I spoke to on the phone, *****, was slurring his speech and saying a variety of contradictory things that made it appear her was under the influence. He told me the ticket had not been closed and they needed more information. Then he backtracked. Then he offered me 3 additional credits for $50, then he took my credit card information and said I would be getting 1 credit for $50. When I told him he had just offered me 3 credits he said "well you didn't seem to really care." I asked to speak to a manager and after a long hold ***** came back on and said a manager wasn't available and that I could send an email to ******************* if I was unhappy. I did, but have not heard back from *****. This business is falsely advertising a "month" of premium service when it is really only a one-time service. And they are taking money without fixing issues, and then requiring more money in order to make ineffective attempts. This is unethical business practices and consumers need protection.
