The business addressed the issues within the complaint, but the consumer either a) did not accept the response, OR b) did not notify BBB as to their satisfaction.

In 2008 I paid Jefferson memorial $10000 for future funeral arrangements which included a casket and use of funeral home. I was 64. I am now 78 and my three sons and Five granddaughters are scattered around the United States I would like to change my arrangements from being embalmed and shipped to being cremated here in South Carolina. It would make the circumstances of my death easier for a family get together. My deceased husband and myself can be buried in cremation vaults together in the plot in Jefferson Cemetery. I feel since I won’t be needing a casket or use of funeral home and the fact that they have had my monies for 14 years that I am entitled to some reimbursement. They will agree if I sign my entire contract over to them. There are items on the contract ie plot memorial headstone cremation vault for my husband and opening and closing of the grave. I do not at this point trust their motives. This has been an ongoing problem since 3/2022

I'm writing this review to make others aware that Jefferson Memorial did not comply with our written contract of flower placement. We signed their contract and submitted a payment of $264. for flower placement on my fathers gravesite for various dates in May-November, 2021. On four separate occasions that we are aware of (and potentially others we aren't aware of) we visited my fathers gravesite and flowers had not been placed. I contacted the funeral home through email on many occasions and never received a response. Finally I reached ***** by telephone, who apologized profusely and explained it was an oversight promised this would never happen again. He offered a Christmas wreath in lieu of the missed flower placements. A few weeks later we visited my fathers gravesite again on the anniversary of his death and once again, no flowers had been placed. (They are suppose to be placed on Friday(s). We stopped on the following Sunday and nothing was there. My mom ran out to a store, bought flowers and returned to place them.It is at best, very concerning that we have found on numerous occasions a complete failure to comply with the written agreement contracted to us. We are writing this review to warn others to not submit payment for flower placement because we believe it is a scam the cemetery takes money from the grieving, assuming they are not going to visit the gravesite to check on flower placement. "

Jefferson Memorial is a customer centered family business who strives to fulfill our client’s needs. We have offered flower programs for well over 60 years to our families. We have no record of any emails sent to the funeral home by MS ***************. However, since her first phone call to our cemetery staff associate responsible for the floral remembrance program, we have endeavored to resolve any issue or misunderstanding. After reviewing the order form she had mailed it was discovered that during the time in question it was not possible that four (4) bouquets or more were missing- because only three (3) had been ordered [May 14 & 28 and June 18th] and her family acknowledged seeing the flowers that had been placed on June 18th. We believe our staff placed the bouquets on May 14 & 28 since they were on the order and placement list and the associate physically placing the flowers reported no shortage or overage of flowers to be placed. In good faith our employee offered a free Christmas Wreath just in case we did err. MS *************** alleged that on the weekend of the anniversary of her father’s death (June 26, 2013) there were no flowers on the grave. And she was correct. Reviewing the submitted order form she had accidently not ordered flowers for Friday Jun 25th only June 18th. MS *************** then acknowledge she had forgotten to keep a copy of the order form and did not remember exactly which Friday’s she had selected. Each associate of Jefferson Memorial Cemetery and Funeral Home does their best to treat every client as we wish to be treated if we were in their shoes. We are sorry of any misunderstand with MS *************** but we believe the issue is now resolved.
