I did a Google search for the Etsy phone number and found this number: 805-707-0765. The “rep” that answered claimed that he could issue a credit, instead he walked me through a series of complicated steps, including downloading Any Desk, that ultimately allowed him to cash out $472 from my Cash App account. Unfortunately, by the time I realized what he was doing it was too late. It didn’t help that I was suffering from a horrible head cold and was pretty out of it. I’ve reached out to Etsy, Any Desk and Cash App to advise them of this issue. My hope is that others won’t fall victim to this type of scam.
