Description

A Sales person came to my house to sell me solar panels at a high rate. It was Christmas time 2023, so I was very busy and distracted. The rep was nice and assured me that if I signed that day, I would have until the Solar panels are installed to change my mind and cancel without penalty. So I agreed. The next day someone showed up measuring things and installed security equipment from Vivint in my house. That rep signed my name fraudulently and made up passcodes that I did not authorize. 2 weeks later, it was January and I had time to review the offer, BBB, and other companies, and decided to cancel Freedom Forever. I emailed them and called them many times, and they assured me that it would be canceled, but they only put it on hold. I didn't stress about it because the rep who came to my house convinced me that they wouldn't charge anything until the Solar panels were on the house and working well. April 2024 rolled around and I received an alert that a loan was placed on my credit report for $20,904. I called Freedom Forever, who brushed me off again. So I submitted a BBB complaint, and finally got someone to call me. She told me that either I need to pay a Vivint Equipment fee of $3000, or the Vivint security system needs to be canceled and returned to cancel Freedom Forever, and thus cancel the loan. I reached out to Vivint to cancel and scheduled for them to remove their equipment from my home the next day. This was a normal service for Vivint to do. However Daniel Larios from Freedom Forever told Vivint not to retrieve their equipment because they want to be paid first. The $20,904 was supposed to be for Solar panels that I don't have nor will ever have. The $3,000 was supposed to be for Security equipment that I don't want and they are refusing to allow Vivint to remove their own devices just so they can collect this arbitrary fee. They know that if I return the Vivint products, they can't charge me for the products. So now They are trying to ruin my credit report and charge me $23,904 for products I don't have
