Description

The person reached out through our "contact us" form on our church website. They identified themselves as Mrs. Barabara Williams, who recently lost her musician husband. She wanted to donate her baby grand piano to our church as a free will donation. I reached out to her via my work email. She shared photo's and measurements. This whole experience felt a little unbelievable, yet at the same time hard to question. After we indicated our interest she shared the information regarding the moving company who would deliver the piano. The only cost we would carry was for moving delivery. It was at this point when I decided to Google the moving company because I wanted to make sure she was at least located in the same state. I quickly noticed that the website, even though it seemed legit had some lacking information. I added the words "baby grand piano" to my search and found another BBB scam report of a similar story just with a different name. Though, it was still through TIM Moving company. Fortunately we caught this before any real information was traded, other than what is already available publicly.
