I received an email telling me that by federal law I need to file a BOI before January 1, 2025 for my business. I started filing out the paperwork and then it says that the fee for them to file it is $499, I was like this isn’t right, so then I googled filing a BOI and it’s completely free to file. I called the number for my Florida corp filings and asked why they are trying to charge $499 and they said bc they file the form for us but if I file it online on my own it’s free to file so what are they charging me for. I believe that if someone who has no knowledge of being able to file this form online for free would give these people money for no reason. They are trying to take advantage of people by doing absolutely nothing for them.
