The scammer attempted to contact me via my QuickBooks Online Profile. This is one of the methods provided to us to get business leads. The person claims that he is a Casting Director and would like me to provide training to actors for Quickbooks. He says he is going to pay me a train them for a few days. Generally, this would not be an issue. However, I researched the website and there are various indicators that this business is not real: (1) The executives of the company on the site look like AI images. They also do not have LinkedIn profiles. (2) They say they are located in Cedar City, Utah but the map on one of their pages is for One World T3ade Center in NY. (3) The phone number is a Google Voice Number which they did not answer. (4) I checked the ICANN registration (https://lookup.icann.org/en/lookup) for the Website and I found that the domain is registered to someone in Iceland at Mailing Address: Kalkofnsvegur 2, Reykjavik, Capital Region, 101, IS. Given these indicators, I believe that this was going to escalate into a Scam. So I wanted to provide this information to hopefully prevent others from getting scammed. Luckily, I did my due diligence.
