On 16 Aug 23, we paid Nissan for the replacement of a fuel pump and a water pump on a **** Nissan Pathfinder. We had replaced the fuel pump before bringing it into Nissan but they said sometimes the pump s off the shelf are faulty. So now we have another fuel pump, and we drove the vehicle home, but it would not start the next day. After calling Nissan, they said it could have been a faulty pump and bring it back, and they would look at it again for free. This time, they said it was actually the fuel pressure regulator valve. At this point, we questioned the quality of work being performed since it was not identified the first time we brought it in. We told the service rep we weren't willing to continue paying for replacement parts and labor if they were unable to get it right the first time. We did offer to pay for the part but not the associated labor because the technician could have isolated the fault better during the first diagnostic. The next day we received a call expressing that Nissan was not willing to fix the vehicle and that we should pick it up. We would like a refund for the labor of replacing the fuel pump the first time because it seems that was an uncalled-for charge since the fuel pump was brand new to begin with. When there own mechanics stated it is not the fuel pump but the regulator valve.
