Sent from Mail for Windows From: oxiboxi25 Sent: Thursday, August 17, 2023 6:58 PM To: *************************** Subject: Missing Personal Items It is now middle August and no resolution yet. Where is the missing box with my wifes items? No one knows. Where is here jewelry, her gown, the gifts of value from her grandmother from ******, no one knows. I do know that these items were marked not to be packed, but they were, or were they? It is strange that the only box that is missing is the one that had her items of value and it disappeared during shipping. Or, perhaps, it was never shipped, perhaps it goes lost in *********! We keep hearing the same thing, the other items are in storage, we cant get to them, belongs to another company, etc. How many more months do we keep hearing the same line? A day, week, month, year, or until you hope we will just give up. Well, that will not happen. These were high value and high sentimental items that belonged to my wife they were her grandmothers and her Great Grandmothers from ******* plus the numerous diamond and gold items she had purchased herself over the years and well as those I purchased for her in ***************. We are not happy with the progress, therefore I am contacting the Better Business Bureau of ********* and notifying them of this ongoing situation which seems to be ongoing with no resolution. Sorry, but that is the way it is. I personally think her items were looted before shipping took place. They were marked DO NOT PACK, but they were packed anyway, and that is the only box that is missing. Why? ****************************

      Business response

****** and ***************************** received delivery of their household goods on 6/8/2023.  On 6/14 Alisons Relocations was notified by Mr. and ***************** that they had missing valuables-jewelry that was to have been in two cartons.  The Patzkes have levied a grave allegation suggesting that members of our team have engaged in the misappropriation of jewelry from cartons numbered #** and #**.
The four men who performed packing services for the ****** crew have pristine clean criminal background checks.  The employees dates of hire are:  June 2007, January 2008, August 2007, and April 2020-he came with 18 years of experience from another *********-based moving company.  These men are veteran employees with a respectful tenure in our organization.
None of these employees have ever been confronted with such an accusation during their tenure with Alisons Relocations.
Mr. and ***************** affixed their signatures to numerous documents both before and after our services were performed, wherein the policies, procedures, and warnings before you sign were outlined. It is incumbent upon us to presume that when these documents are endorsed, they have been comprehended and thus acknowledged by the signatories. I have made a brief outline of the forms along with the specific section for reference. Each of these documents has been included for review.

      Attachment #1 PREMOVE INFORMATION
      **EXCEPTIONALLY VALUABLE ARTICLES
      *CUSTOMERS RESPONSIBILITY DURING DELIVERY
      *DO NOT SHIP
Attachment #2 ARIS LIABILITY CLAIMS EXCLUSIONS AND INFORMATION; CLAIMS ARE NOT COVERED FOR
      * A)
      Attachment #3 BILL OF LADING
*Signed on 4/26; releasing shipment to a maximum value of $.** per pound per article
*Signed on 6/8  Delivery Acknowledgement:Shipment was received in apparent good condition except as notated on inventory and services ordered were performed.
      Attachment #4 INVENTORIES
7 pages of inventory each signed stating all items were received and no items were received damaged.
**Page 2 items ** and ** signed as received.
In conclusion, there is no indication of any tampering with any of the cartons, such as broken seals or the absence of tape.  Our records confirm that all items were documented as received, leaving no record of anything being absent.
Furthermore, no instances of damage were recorded upon delivery.
The signed delivery documents serve as prima facie evidence of the state of the goods at the time of their delivery. Given the absence of substantiating evidence to establish that the alleged items were lost or impaired during our custody, we respectfully deny the claim as it has been presented.  Specifically, in regard to the missing valuables, we advise the Patzkes to consider initiating a police report and permitting the authorities to undertake an inquiry if they find it meritorious and essential.

It is important to mention that we are aware that a 400# horse equipment piece belonging to the Patzkes had been loaded in a manner that disengaged it from being recognized by the unloaders as an item belonging to the Patzkes.  Due to the weight of the item it had been placed behind the main portion of the load and was not caught until the driver arrived at the next delivery.  All items in that delivery were checked off as received by its customer and receiving agent and had no unaccounted-for cartons or pieces.
We remain at your service and available for further communications as needed.

Nothing was stated in the business response when this issue will be resolved.

Second the business did not say why their loyal veteran employees packed items from a closet that were  clearly marked "do not pack" nothing else was removed except my jewelry from that closet.

Third ,as the business knows a police report is not applicable.

Lastly we have been told many tines our boxes may be in another shipment when will that be known?

This matter needs to be resolved now !

The shipment that **************** is referencing was another shipper that was loaded behind the ******** shipment in the same trailer.  The shipment was delivered into storage into a moving company's warehouse.  When it was offloaded into that warehouse the inventories were checked off, acknowledging receipt of each item.  It did not reflect any overages, or in other words, items that did not belong to that shipment.

I am rejecting this response because:

I don't understand the movers reply. They told us our missing box could be with the other shipment where the found our arena rascal ( farm equipment)? So they now are lying. Did they even ask the other people? They did not answer any of our concerns which we numbered so they could address them. Why are we waiting for reimbursement from our claim made within a week of getting our household goods? THEY HAVE NOT RESOLVED ONE ISSUE

      Sincerely,

Alisons Relocations ***** will respond to the questions as written by the customer:
I don't understand the movers reply. They told us our missing box could be with the other shipment where the found our arena rascal ( farm equipment)? So they now are lying. Did they even ask the other people?
This was answered in our response.  The other shipment went into storage and as mentioned in our prior response to the BBB.  When the shipment was placed into the moving companies storage, it had no overages or items that did not belong to its owner.

They did not answer any of our concerns which we numbered so they could address them. Why are we waiting for reimbursement from our claim made within a week of getting our household goods? THEY HAVE NOT RESOLVED ONE ISSUE
Reviewing the complaint and all responses from the customer, we do not see what numbers the customer is referencing.  *** has responded to each concern in all of the customers submissions to the BBB.

      1. Our shipment was combined with another person's. DID THEY VERBALLY CONTACT THAT FAMILY AND DIRECTLY ASK THEM IF THEY HAVE MY JEWELRY?
This has been answered.  The shipment in question went into storage at a moving companys warehouse.  When it was taken off of the transporting truck and placed into storage vaults the inventories were checked off.  There were no items received and placed into storage that did not belong to this customer.  All numbers matched.
      2. Our shipment was off loaded in ******* to a smaller truck for delivery. WHO SUPERVISED THAT TRANSFER OF GOODS AND WHERE IS THE ***** WORK THAT MATCHES MY FORM THAT STATE EVERY BOX WAS ACCOUNTED FOR?
The driver would have been most likely the one overseeing this transload.  We will put that question out to the carrier.  The paperwork being requested was uploaded in the BBB portal as an attachment when we first responded.
      3. WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH OUR CLAIM WITH YOUR REPRESENTATIVE ***************************?
A letter of denial was mailed out on 1/24/2023.  In brief, the claim had been denied.  Items claimed as missing had been signed as received.  The two items claimed as damaged were not noted as damaged on the delivery documents but rather that all items were received in good condition.

      4. WHY DID YOUR MOVERS PACK ITEMS IN A CLOSET THAT WAS MARKED CLEARLY " DO NOT PACK"?
      5.  WHEN WILL THIS GET RESOLVED?
      6. IS THERE ANY CHANCE OF FINDING MY JEWELRY?

My claim against the moving company was denied. They will pay ** no money or try to find my missing jewelry.  They stated a rejection letter dated 1/24/23 was mailed. We moved in April 2023 not in January. They stated we signed that everything was present and not damaged.  The delivery person would not wait for us to unpack over 100 boxes in their presence and stated we had 90 days to file the claim ( we did that). Now they state we are out of luck. At 72 years old we could not physically unpack 100 boxes that day. There has to be some recourse! Please help us, thank you

My apologies for my error in dates.  The claim response letter was dated and sent on 9/24/2023 and not 1/24/2023.  I have uploaded it for review and will consider it now received.
