    Pattern of Complaint:

On April 8, 2024, Better Business Bureau recognized a pattern of complaints from consumers regarding repair issues and service issues. Consumers allege the service department takes weeks and sometimes months to repair vehicles leaving customers without a replacement vehicle, vehicles are returned to consumers with the same issues that were supposed to be repaired, and in some cases, the vehicles are returned to customers with new problems to be fixed. Consumers also allege that when attempting to contact the service department, nobody answers or returns phone calls.

On April 9, 2024, and April 23, 2024, BBB notified Chevrolet of South Anchorage of the complaint pattern. To date, Chevrolet of South Anchorage has not responded to BBB’s request to address the pattern.

I purchased a used vehicle from ***** of South Anchorage and obtained an inspection prior to picking it up since the purchase was occurring remotely before coming to ******. I never received a copy of the inspection but was told after spending nearly $450 that everything checked out with the exception of the timing belt cover, which I acknowledged and understood. after picking up the vehicle, I went to have the tires balanced and was told that due to the cracking that they were also dry rotted and needed replaced as soon as possible. I requested a refund of the inspection or assistance in replacing the tires and have not heard back after an initial acknowledgment to assist. I am exceptionally disappointed and also experienced a lack of responsiveness regarding the *** registration and plates that they were supposed to facilitate but took numerous phone calls and stops by the dealership to get resolved. I would not recommend the dealership for any purchase or repair.

I had my vehicle towed to Chevrolet of South Anchorage in the beginning of May to have my transmission worked on. They were told what parts needed to be replaced (pump and torque converter) and was told that wasn't a problem, they could take care of it. My son and I kept having to contact them to find out status on repairs as it was taking a very long time and was told numerous times that the technician was either sick or training or still working on it. After roughly 2 months, they said that the previous place that repaired my transmission had done a very bad job rebuilding it and looked like they shoved parts in causing it to fail early on (****** miles). They then said that I needed a new pump and torque converter which was already stated to them when truck was towed there. Service advisor then stated that they could not find some parts due to the trucks age and would have to buy either new or rebuilt transmission which I declined (only rebuilt available had too many miles on it). She then informed me that we would need to pay $2,800 for diagnostics for the time it took to look at it, they then lowered the price to $2,000. I do not feel that I should have to pay for them $2,000 for diagnostics considering they were already told what parts were needed replaced. They claim it took technician 19 hours to do diagnostics which is absolutely ridiculous when I had 2 other shops look and was diagnosed within 1 hour. They refuse to release my truck back to me until it is paid

It will ring and no one will answer, or someone answers and then transfers me and then the line is disconnected.I want my vehicle repaired AND I want to know who owns the dealership.,

My alternator was originally replaced 4-22-23 at Chevrolet of South Anchorage. A year later my truck started having the same problem "using my battery saver" this was the message then it said, "vehicle was going to stall". I took my truck to ********, and they said it was my alternator again not being installed properly and they would not fix it because they originally did not fix it. I called GM Motors because I could get any straight answers or call back until they got involved. I then had to have my truck dump started from ******** to drive to Chevrolet of South Anchorage for them to replace the alternator. Chevrolet of South Anchorage then told me it was my battery. 1 week later my truck again gave me the same messages batter saver on, and truck would stall. I took it back to Chevrolet of South Anchorage and they said it was my alternator. They replaced the alternator free of charge due to it being on warranty. I ask for a refund for my battery I did not need, and they said no. I would like my refund for a battery I did not need. I have spoken with ******* and *** of ******** at ************. I have spoken with *********************** and ****** Sleeper of Chevrolet of South Anchorage at ************ or ************. GM Motor I have spoken with Temptist at **************. Thank you for your assistance. *********************** ************ or ***********************

I bought a brand new ***** bolt EUV from ***** of south anchorage on March 4th 2024. I have only driven for 4 weeks unfortunately, I receive a notice from ONSTAR saying the vehicle has an issue with the driven unit while I'm driving home from work. It slow the vehicle down from 50 mph to 30 mph instance. lucky, the car be hide me was able to slow down and not have a rear end accident. I then drive it slowly with the hazard light on for approximately 12 miles to the dealership to drop off the car. I have been trying to contact them to get in update on the status but no one is available. After 4 weeks I have finally get a hold with a guy name ******. I find out that they didn't even look at my car after 4 weeks of siting in their lot. Unfortunately, they won't give me a rental after they do the diagnose but it's been 4 weeks that they didn't even do anything to the car. ***** of South Anchorage really giving me a frustrate and headed experience. I just want to get my car back so I can get back to work and take care of my own family daily or get my refund so I can get myself a new car.

The Chevrolet of South Anchorage was given my car 5 weeks ago now: I was told it would be fixed in 2 weeks, 3 at the absolute maximum. It is now 5 weeks later. After two weeks I had heard nothing. I called every day with absolutely no response about how my vehicle was or when it would be repaired. Complete silence from the dealership. The 3 week **** (a Friday) was when I decided to show up in person to the dealership to ask what was going on. I was assured that they were overnighting a part, although the car had already been there for 3 weeks, and that it would be repaired at the latest on the following Monday. That Monday I called and was told me service manager was on lunch. When I finally got a call back I was told the vehicle still was not done, but that it would be finished at the latest on Friday. It has now been a week since the Friday they affirmed it would be finished. The utter lack of communication and unprofessionalism is just shocking to me. It is a warranty repair, and I feel like they have been dragging their feet because of that. I have not been updated still, although its been a week past when they assured me it would be finished. Lack of transportation is now interfering with my schooling and obligations. Upon request I can get all of the communication records to verify. The dealership has absolutely horrible customer service on top of the actual issues with my car. There are many truly awful reviews on ******** mentioning them, and I honestly wish I had never taken my vehicle there.

I have taken my vehicle back and forth to this dealership from April 2023 to current. I have not paid this business any money but have been making timely payments on my vehicle. I brought my vehicle to the service center at this dealership, for a check engine light repair. My vehicle was returned to me in wrose condition than when I brought it there. I believe the service department broke a part and then tried to cover up the parts they broke with a shoddy repiar. I am filing this complaint as I have made payments on a vehicle I cannot drive. Addtionally, the value of my car has possibly gone down due to the excessive amount of service records. My vehicle is curently being looked at again by this business.

In September of 2019 I purchased a brand new ***** **** LTZ from ***** of South Anchorage. I immediately started having issues with the transmission shuttering, shifting hard, jolting me forward or backward when putting it into gear. I called and told them about it and was assured over the phone that it was normal when breaking in a newer ****** About a year later after enduring the same problems since purchase, I brought the vehicle back to the dealership which is approx. 160 miles or 2.5hrs away from where I live. They inspected the vehicle with their "transmissions expert" and told me they could not replicate the issues and then directed me to a reddit forum from other ***** owners who were experiencing the same issues and searching for solutions. Fast forward a few years and while my vehicle is still under the powertrain warranty, I return it again to have in RE-inspected for the same issues. That was on July 27, 2023. Since then, it has been 2.5 months and they have yet to get back to me with what they have accomplished. Every phone call my wife and I have made to them (20+) we have been sent to and endless ringing phone line, disconnected, asked to leave a message which was never returned or hung up on. We changed our approach in which we now have to contact the sales department of the dealership to have a sales rep physically walk over to the service department to get in contact with someone who can look into our issue. Each time when presented with a rep from the service department, they are seemingly shocked and awed to see that my truck still has yet to be looked at and tell me they will get back to me with updates. They never have. This 2.5 month period I have been without my warrantied truck I have had to rent vehicles and borrow from family to get to and from work. Now the phone line is disconnected and we have no way of contacting them. We need help resolving this issue and reporting them so they cannot continue to do this to others.

I bought a 2021 ***** blazer with warranty a year ago. In June 2023 I get a call from *** at services to bring my car in for a recall. I told her I live on an island and I had to pay my car to go up from kodiak island on ferry to ***** to drove to anchorage pay for car rentals on July 2nd to date. They still have my car. *** said the recall is the engine control module. Warranty doesn't reimburse anything since it was south ***** who installed the module. It being broken is the reason I didn't know I was having oil and engine problems. **** and ***** said I need to give all receipts for warranty to fix it. I didn't keep them all but I had couple. Warranty won't fix it. South ***** says I need a new engine and I have to okay for it. I shouldn't have to pay for their mistake. Ruined my whole engine on their recall.
