On 12/29/23, my car broke down on the eve. on ****** Blvd. I called my roadside assistance and contacted Three Brothers Auto. We had planned for a tow truck to tow the car there with the key. My auto insurance roadside assistance tried twice and said that no tow trucks were available at all. I let Three Brothers Auto know. An officer that was in the area said my car should be fine to put a note in the window and tow it in the morning, which I did. The next day, the Three Brothers Auto owner called and said that it would be $3,500 to fix my car, which was 16 years old and only recently had needed two repairs/services. I only had used Three Brothers Auto twice in 2023 for car service/repairs, since my longtime service/repair shop had had a fire. The owner said to me on 12/30/23 that he had a 2008 CL320 ******** SUV in good condition which his wife had driven and Id love the car. In May and Oct. 2023, he said he was interested in buying my 2007 ***** CX-7 car. On 12/30/23, he said he would take it to salvage and would need my car title to do that. I test drove the car to the bank/back with his wife in the car. I received a $6,000 bill of sale and as is contract. I understand as is, but I now believe he did not disclose issues that the car had. On 1/15/24, the car stalled/died at work after work and would not restart. The owner and son **** did not answer calls or texts that night or since then. I had talked to a reputable caller I had. When introduced after that. He suggested having the car diagnosed and I could trade it in with him less repair costs. One import car shop was available a month later and one a week later. It was recommended that I make sure the title is in my name before I have any work or diagnostics done. I believe the reason the car stalled/died on 1/15/24 is because the alternator was bad and didnt charge the two batteries. I went to UMV on 1/24/24 and was told that the car title I received from Three Brothers Auto was not current. No response rcd.
