I contracted in writing on Feb 28 to have gutters and gutter guards installed at my property with *********************** valley gutters and construction. I paid $1000 down for materials. *********************** is owner and who I dealt with. He told me they could get the job completed that very week. As soon as he got my first pmt he immediately started in with excuses about the materials supplier and then his machine being broken. He claims it wasnt broke when he bid the job but I think it was and he is lying about it. After two weeks he finally got some other gutter folks out to use their machine to run the gutters out. Then he said he needed more money because he had to pay them so I paid him another $500. After they finished producing the gutters and I paid him the ****************************************************************************************** yard. He finally returned and put up gutters and supposed to finish that day. However near late afternoon he told my wife some sob story about his dead wife and four kids. And his truck was out of gas so she paid him the final $1500 with understanding he would still finish that day. As soon as he got the check he left and we havent seen him since. He left all his tools scattered about and gutter stuff all over yard and job in incomplete missing downspouts, joints, and gutter guards. He refuses to come back out claiming truck is broke but we offered him a ride and he still wont come. I feel he owes me at least $1000 back or finish the job. As it is I have a not even half finished job that took him five weeks for what should have been a one day job. I feel this guy is a scammer that never intended to finish the job and is playing the sympathy card to get a pay out instead of working. I also suspect he has some sort of drug or alcohol issues given he wont work before noon and only works a couple hours before leaving again. Its likely he doesnt carry insurance either given his financial situation.
