I bought a used car from this business on January 15, ****. I was assured the car was in great shape mechanically. I drove the car about 200 miles and the third time i drove it, the clutch went out on Sunday January 21, ****. I contacted them on Monday January 22, ************************************************************* ******** *******. The car was inspected and found to be in need of a new clutch and other parts associated with the clutch at a cost of over $3000.00. I sent the information to Town and Country **** and they stalled me for two days. Finally, after numerous calls and texts with the salesperson, ************************* who said they would reimburse me $125.00 towing fee and $500,00, which i refused, I got a call from *******************, their GM who pretty much told me that it wasn't their problem and reoffered the same 125 and 500. Although he did also mention that he was the previous owner of the car. I refused the offer and again told them I just want them to fix the car they sold me and that I would seek an attorney and any other means that I could to have them fix the car. I had no choice but to authorize the repairs for me to pay.Business response

I bought a 2016 F-150 from them about a year ago. After driving the truck for a couple weeks the air went out. I brought it back in and they said it would be 3 weeks before they could even look at it. They suggested If I couldn’t wait to have it looked at somewhere else. I didn’t have the time or money to do it either so I continued to drive it until I finally had some available time to take it somewhere to have it looked at. I had it fixed else where at another Ford dealership closer to me and contacted them to tell them I had had it repaired and I gave them the receipts and they have yet to get back with me with an answer or reimbursement. They continue to tell me to wait and they’ll get me answer but I have been waiting long enough and been given the run around for too long so I just want to be reimbursed for the amount of the repair.Business response

We are in receipt of the complaint of ***** ***** and his March 4, 2021 purchase of a Pre Owned 2016 Ford F150. Our record reflects that on May 3, 2021 the customer contacted ******* Young and said he was having some air conditioning problems. The customer came in and the service department told him it would be about 3 weeks before we could look at it. ***** never showed back up for us to see what the problem was? ***** ***** purchased a Pre Owned 2016 Ford F150 with NO Factory warranty and at the time of purchase refused the option to purchase an Extended Service Contract.
Although our goal is to satisfy all our customers, we are sorry that ***** ***** is not satisfied with his purchase.

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: They said I never came back but I was talking to ******* and he kept telling me he would get it checked on and was the one who told me to go somewhere else and get it looked at because they didn’t have time in the first place and we’re still backed up. I did bring the truck there physically though and I was turned away bc “ it would be 3 weeks before we can look at it” said the employee in the service department. This vehicle broke within the time frame and mileage range to still be covered so saying it’s not covered is false. I just want us to work together to a resolution. I love the truck and ******* has been spectacular, but the level of service from everyone else has been lacking and I just want this made right.
Sincerely,
***** *****Initial Complaint

They sold me a used F350 with a defective engine, they committed fraud. They said the engine and vehicle was in great top shape. It immediately broke down (out of state) and when we tried to drive it back to CO later for repairs the engine completely quit. The repair shop, AAA rated, in Utah told us that this defect was many months and tens of thousands of miles oldi.e. it existed long before they sold it to us. They also said error codes that would show it had been replaced. This company deliberately conceals fatal defects in cars and lies to public in selling them. I am a retired AF Colonel, the employee with me is an experienced diesel engine guy, and the AAA repair shop in Utah are experts with no bias against a Ford dealer in another state. We all know that Ford Alamosa are lying criminals. I have contacted an attorney to sue them for fraud; they should be condemned by the BBB, management removed by Ford.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/09/17) */ After researching "**** ******" in our customer database, it was determined that he had never bought a vehicle from Town & Country Ford in Bessemer, Alabama. In the case description, he mentions "Ford Alamosa". Attached is the link to the Town & Country Ford of Alamosa, Colorado. We believe this is the dealership that needs to be contacted by the BBB. https://www.towncountryfordalamosa.com/dealership/about.htm
