I have had a terrible experience with DEC fire and Water Restoration. They came in my home and destroyed my kitchen and left me without a kitchen for about 5 months. They busted my pipes in the kitchen and stole the pipes and left me with the bill and they broke my glass stove while taking my cabinets apart. No one told them to demolish all my cabinets just to get to a small rusted pipe behind the wall for the plumber to fix. They could have opened the wall under the sink but they came in and tore my kitchen up and my whole family suffered from it. They left the sick off and we had to use bathroom water and I have 8 girls living in this home with no kitchen sink. They wanted me to send them half of over 7000 to fix the kitchen and when i did send them$3880 to start fixing it they took the money and didn't come and do the work for me leaving me and my family still stuck with no kitchen. I have suffered from this and they hung up on me when trying to reach them and I've explained to them that this is wrong but they still didn't refund the $3880 I sent them for not fixing the mess they made

Great experience from start to finish! We were kept in the loop on what was going on through all stages of the work and they relieved so much stress off of me dealing directly with the adjuster so I didnt have to!

NY roof is leaking after 2 yrs.no decking or tar paper. Still broken boards and rafters.cost was $***** dollars. Also rebuilt Somerton that are now rotten. They are con artists.i reported this and have heard nothing. I signed a paper saying I would stay off the internet so they.would give us back the money for repairs on the rest of the house in2020. We got the wrong shingles and this 10 yr roof is leaking

I wish I had properly investigated DEC and saw these other negative reviews before I allowed DEC in my home. In August 2021, I had a second-floor toilet leak which prompted me to contact Old Republic. Old Republic sent a plumber from Extra Care Plumbing to address the issue. The plumber heard me talking to Allstate about sending someone to mitigate and repair the water damage. The plumber offered to contact DEC to come out to survey the damage instead. I agreed. On August 10, DEC's Tyler Burns visited my home and examined the damage. He repeatedly told me that allowing Allstate to send its network of contractors to mitigate and repair the damage would be a mistake as they would try to cut corners to save Allstate money. He assured me that he had worked with Allstate previously so he knew the nature of the business, and that me hiring DEC would be best. Prior to starting construction, Project Manager Rodney Byrd indicated that he had already ordered the materials to begin the project, and that repairs would take 4-5 days. We agreed that with Thanksgiving approaching, the construction would start the Monday after Thanksgiving, mind you the damage occurred in early August. He estimated 4-5 days, yet it wasn’t actually finished until February 3, 2022, and even then the job wasn't done. Note this project wasn’t delayed due to extraordinary long lead times or backorders, it lagged unnecessarily due to unprofessionalism. For months, I had to oversee every aspect of the project in hopes that it would come out half right, which would still be below standard. Every area had to be repaired multiple times. Because of DEC's negligence, I now have additional damage because its contractors did not install the toilet properly which resulted in another leak. In summary, there was not just one or two issues during the project, the entire construction project consisted of subpar, inconsistent, and unprofessional workmanship. I have repeatedly requested a refund, but no response.
