***** have been work on my issues for about 6 month. They sent 3 different crew to work on my floors. We had water damage a closet still have damaged. ***** came out and work up an estimate of the damage. After **** was fired and two weeks later they started the job. The first group came out and stated that it was still wet in the basement. They stop the job and they started back with another crew. After they started they said they ran out of material. I contacted ***** he stated that they order some more materials to finish. They sent out painters that next week they explain to the tented they were not painting several areas of the downstairs. One of the young men said he don't know why the sent him he was not a painter. I was at this point was about to let them go. The work was not performed correctly no it wasn't performed properly. I have uploaded some of the work that was half done at my property.

After Hurricane Ida, my insurance company sent Bento to my house to tarp my roof and remediation. I met them at my house on Monday Sept 6, 2021. ***** explained to me the procedure and what we can expect from them. He said they will take moisture readings and where the moisture is high they will be removing sheetrock or whatever was wet. He said they move all the furniture out of the way and cover it with plastic. Once the drying process is finished they would come in and move everything back and even sweep and mop! My garage was a disaster and apart of the remediation, when the guys came out to start removing the sheetrock and all, they had to move all my stuff out of my garage and find a place to put it. They THREW stuff where ever they wanted leaving things like a indoor grill and saws out in the weather. They piled everything up in 3 of our bedrooms and on the patio outside. They also helped themselves to alcohol we had in the fridge and in our cabinet. Hand truck/ladder not found.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/07) */ In order to remove wet sheetrock, insulation, etc and dry affected areas of the home, contents did have to be relocated to other rooms, including three bedrooms and the patio. The covered patio was only to be used to store items that would be safe left outside under cover. We apologize if anything was stored outside that should not have been. Bento Construction absolutely does not allow employees or subcontractors to consume the food and/or drinks or use personal property belonging to our clients. The project manager did not see anything to suggest that anyone working at the home was taking or consuming any alcohol, however, we have addressed the matter with crews that were on site. We did look for the hand truck and ladder so that they could be returned if they were taken inadvertently, but they were not located. Please provide a detailed list of the items that you are seeking reimbursement for, including items damaged from being stored outside, missing alcohol, and the hand truck and ladder so that we can work with you to resolve these issues. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/10/14) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I need Bento to let me know what they are going to do before I accept their response. My house as well as my belonging were pretty messed up after the company finished. These are a list of the items that went missing or they drank or left outside. Hand truck $40, 8ft fiberglass ladder $126, golf bag $100, golf club 2 iron $200, putter $50, 3wood $150, driver $300, baby car seat $98, 1 wooden dining room chair $79, electric grill $99, 6/6pks of Mike Hard lemondade $8.64ea. There are 2 pairs of tennis shoes missing nike Huareache/tan $120, Nike free run/black and red $120. They broke my headboard and footboard. My sofa is less than 2 years old and they had sheetrock in the cushions, they did not cover and my dining room table was not covered and it has sheetrock chalk all over it. We can discuss these few furniture items later. There is so much more that I could add to this and after the devastation/damage of the storm, coming home was really hard to deal with everything out of place. I was told by ***** everything would be put back where it was. I feel like the job was rushed so they could go out and make more money from others. Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2021/10/29) */ "We are in contact with the customer, obtaining photos and reviewing the complaints. We are working diligently to come to a resolution with the homeowner. " Consumer Response /* (4200, 11, 2021/11/01) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) No, I do not accept the proposed resolution. I do not feel like the company is diligently working to come to a resolution with me. When they contact me again if we can come up with a fair resolution in writing then I will decide if it is acceptable. Business Response /* (4000, 13, 2021/11/11) */ Bento Construction, LLC does not condone stealing nor drinking on the job. We understand your concerns, however, after reviewing the photos provided, we are not convinced the claims are the result of our crew. We had all crew members living together with their supervisors. It would have been very apparent had they consumed six 6-packs of Mikes Hard Lemonade and Crown Royal liquor while on site. In regard to the items claimed to be stolen, we had crews check equipment for the hand truck, which was not in our possession. After catastrophes, like Hurricane Ida, looters go around to homes and pick up items that can be quickly pawned off. In our 25+ years' experience, this is a common practice, as unfortunate as it is. Again, we can assure you that crews did not steal any items from the home. The items placed outside the home (golf bag with clubs, baby car seat, wooden chair and electric grill) were removed from the garage in which the ceiling collapsed. These items were already saturated with water due to the storm and ceiling falling through. They were placed underneath a covered patio as the three rooms in the home we were told to store belongings were full of contents from inside the home that needed to be moved to do demo and mitigation. It is difficult for us to believe that we are the source of damage to these items when they had a garage ceiling caved in on them and were already wet before our crews even made it to the home. We have photos documenting that furniture inside the home was covered during demolition and the start of the drying process. The coverings were removed after. It is normal for there to be small amounts of insulation blown around the home at this point due to the dehumidifiers and air movers. We also have photographs of the bed frame (headboard & footboard) in the home, after demolition and sheetrock being removed and not broken. We served upward of 45 homeowners in the area after Hurricane Ida and have not had other complaints regarding any of these allegations. We pride ourselves on dedication to customers and helping them after a devastation such as this one. For the sake of resolution, Bento Construction will be glad to issue a check to the customer for the damaged items, as listed (golf bag, golf club 2 iron, putter, 3wood, driver, baby car seat, 1 wooden dining room chair, electric grill), upon proof that these items were damaged from the crew and not the storm, and arrangement of collecting these damaged items from the home.
