Kitchen cabinets were installed and paid for in 2021. A microwave cabinet was not installed as ordered. Measurements for microwave were given to the contractor prior to installation of cabinets. My son is a lineman working out of ****************************** were installed while he was out of town. When he returned home noticed the microwave cabinet was not included and a plug in hole for a microwave was put in the wrong cabinet. Multiple ************* calls have not resolved this issue. I contacted the contractor myself 12/10/21, 12/29/21, and 1/14/22. A replacement cabinet was brought but still could not fit the microwave. The person who brought the replacement said a new cabinet would be made. We have not heard from them since. Again, they were paid in full I. Aug or Sept 2021.Business response

Kitchen cabinets were ordered by a young girl and an older lady that was helping remodel the house. They designed and told me what and where to build the cabinets. There was never a microwave mentioned. Approximately two weeks later the younger girl called me and asked me where was she going to put the microwave? I suggested a pantry to the left of the refrigerator but she did not know what size microwave and never called back the microwave size.
After installation and her paying me, she called and said her microwave would not fit in the pantry they told me to build. I felt like I had done what they had asked of me. But to help her out, I told her I would build her a larger pantry. I did just like I told her I would do, and we changed it out. But I do admit it did take some time since my business was about 2.5 months behind.
When I replaced the pantry we noticed she had bought the wrong style of microwave. A normal shelf microwave is usually 24 x 18 inch. She had bought a 30inch that hangs over the stove so therefore it wouldn't fit and needed to be exchanged for a normal size.
My worker installed the new cabinet (pantry) so he couldn't promise to rebuild the pantry again like she said in the complaint.
I never charged her anything and she paid zero for the extra. I never heard anything else from these people until now.
The lady ***************** has nothing to do with the design or the appliance placement. She may have been paying but I honestly don't remember.
I have been in the cabinet business for 48 years ad this is the first time I have faced anything like this. I would like to see this resolved but I feel I have went over and beyond my fair part.
I have contractors I have worked for many years and they can vouch for me that if there is a problem, I try my best to fix it.
To me the simple ad fail way to resolve this would be to take the microwave back and swap it for the shelf model the cabinet was built for. I feel I rebuilt them a $800 cabinet at no charge and that would be inexpensive and simple resolution.

I am rejecting this response because:
he certainly did know about the microwave because he put an opening for an electrical cord on the wrong cabinet (where there was no outlet). He was given the measurements of the microwave before he ever started working on the cabinets. One of the contractors he mentioned was actually the one who measured for the microwave then my daughter-in-law called him with the measurements us. He asked what I have to do with it? Its my sons house and he is an out of town lineman *******. And yes I paid for the cabinets so I want what I paid for.
