      So I recently was in the hospital about a week for heart failure during that time the water was disconnected at home when I got home I paid the bill and waited for two days to pass not to have water until I finally called them. The woman explained that I had a small reconnect fee to finish paying and after that was paid before 2 pm wait and hour then turn the water on at the meter myself. That is exactly what I did. No issues I paid 222$ and waited then went to turn the water on no lock no issues no problem. Well the next afternoon I noticed my usage report was not being emailed no longer so I called them to ask why? There was serveral changes made to the online account I had to make due to the update on the website but as far as my usage I received a report each week with a successful reading each time. Due to the detailing business my husband and I own here we keep close watch on the usages. She said the readings were normal and Id get my reports as I normally would the following week. Today someone called me and said that my water was being shut off there was a lock back on it because someone had cut the previous lock off and I would have to pay a $500 tampering fee for turning my water on EVEN THOUGH SHE SAID I HAD TO TURN OT ON MYSELF She claimed I had cut the lock when there was not a lock in the **** hole! Nothing! So after $675 plus $456 paid for the reconnect and the next month bill my water is shut off and cannot be cut on unless I pay a fine of $500 more dollars all in one month just before Christmas?! Any lawyers reading this want to get paid? Contact me or my husband ****** or ************************* just look us up its ******************** IN ********** ** I am shocked and I dont even know how this could even be happening I believe that whoever worked the day he was supposed to put a lock on it never had and they just need to cover up the mistake I just did what the lady told us to do

      Cullman Electric Cooperative is only the billing agent for water accounts. Cullman Electric does not set policy, make decisions or send employees out to homes and businesses regarding water.  We have forwarded this review to the Cullman *********************** for a response.

      As a customer of many years who, though admittedly foolishly, has hoped for the reliability of my power service to become better, I am disappointed in saying that it has not. When a storm blows through, we lose our electricity nearly every time, and as we're generally the first to lose it in the southwestern section of the county, we're almost always the last to have it restored as well. I'll watch the outage map online as areas who lost their power hours after us, are back up and going as we sit in the dark. Up until I was recently able to afford a small generator, we had to sit as literally thousands of dollars worth of food has spoiled over the years before the generator. Maybe I'm just fed up at this point with how frail our electric infrastructure seems to be. Perhaps if they spent as much time trimming lines on this end of the county as they do elsewhere, we wouldn't have such an issue. The problem with a utility such as this however, is that I have no other option. We're stuck with them, even though they mostly ignore us down here in the uncool part of the county.

      We apologize for the inconvenience. Several system upgrades have been implemented in recent years that have improved the quality of service in your area, and another power line in the area is scheduled to be upgraded. The entire co-op service area has right-of-way trimmed as part of a four-year cycle, and the area you live is scheduled for trimming in 2022. There is no favoritism given to our members based on where they live. The reality is, those members who live near the end of the line have the highest exposure to elements that can cause a power outage. We understand it is frustrating, and we will continue to make system improvements and work to provide all of our members the best service possible.
