Bayside Construction installed a new roof on our home in early February 2022. We paid an extra $750.00 for the Bronze Fortified Roof. We then paid an additional $1600.00 because they did not have the correct materials for the Fortified Roof. So, we paid $2350 total for the Bronze Certified Roof, over and above the cost of the roof installation. Now, 5 months later, we still don't have the Bronze Roof Certification. Despite several reminders, Christian waited 2 months to submit the paperwork. Then, the inspectors sent him notice on April 20, 2022 that he had failed to cover the gable vents, which is required in the roofers' guidelines for a Fortified Roof. He did absolutely nothing! He did not inform us, nor did he schedule the work to be completed. In June we called to ask why we still didn't have the certificate. That's when he finally told us about the gable vents needing to be covered. In the past month, he has made lots of excuses for not completing the work, even when we purchased the wood on his behalf. He scheduled a time twice to do it, then was a no-show, without the courtesy of calling, after we rearranged our schedule to be there. Now, he's not answering phone calls or responding to tex messages. When we reminded him that it needed to be done quickly for insurance purposes, he got angry and said he was "putting us on the back burner," where we have been for 5 months anyway. Our insurance company was planning to redo our insurance in February once we got the Fortified certificate, which would have significantly reduced our premium. Each passing month has cost us about $100 in excess insurance costs. It is now time to renew our insurance, and we have to pay at least $1500 more for insurance because we still don't have the certificate. Furthermore, we are in the middle of hurricane season, and if we have roof damage in a storm, we have no proof that we have a Fortified roof, which could cost us thousands of dollars.Initial Complaint

We paid Bayside $********* to give us a new fortified roof, with a contract written and signed on 11/17/20. After installation, I was told by ********* ******, owner of Bayside, he could not show enough documentation to prove the roof was fortified to receive a certificate. During this particular phone call, when ********* told me this information I asked what can be done. He told me he could reimburse us for the fortified part. We paid $***** extra in order to receive a fortified roof, which also gives us a discount on our insurance and is beneficial in selling our house (if needed). As of today, 4/25/22, we have not received any reimbursement and ********* will not answer phone calls or return my message. He has text me back saying he has done all he can. Another complaint is about our roof leaking. On 9/4/21, while Hurricane Ida made landfall, our roof leaked. We put buckets underneath the leak in our attic and also underneath the leak in the ceiling in our kitchen. Since water was dripping in our house from the roof. We sent several pictures to *********, which consisted of our wet roof and floor in our attic and our wet ceiling in our kitchen. When ********* did come a few days after the roof leaked, he said he could not see anything leaking. He also looked on top of our roof and said he could not find a leak. He did not say he would do anything else and he didn't. Until we continued to ask him to look more into it He asked another roofer to come look at the area where the roof leaked. That roofer came and said the leak looked like it came from a vent. I then asked ********* if he and his workers took the vent off when taking our old roof off. He said that vent was removed in order to install the new roof. He mentioned a few times coming back to look at it and get it situated. My concern was that he and/or his workers reinstalled it improperly and it leaked. As far as I am aware, ********* has not done anything to the vent except hammer on it a few times.
