I am a Canadian who bought a power steering pump (rebuilt) from a resaler (NewParts in Nashville TN) via Ebay. My car is a very special one, it is a Volvo S80 V8 2010 with an engine from Yamaha (rare version). With this specification, I bought from your resaler the part with compatible data (Same as Rockauto Parts). Since it is a major fix (they have to lower the engine, remove the subframe, etc.) I decided to do it during fall time (now). On 11/30/2021 morning, I went to the mechanic.....and it is not the right part, does not fit. I did contact the seller and he told me that the part was purchased in February 2021 and he was not interested to take it back or making the switch with the right part nor to helping me out. The power steering pump is remanufactured from BBB IH. I think it is CHEAP from a resaler to refuse to stand on his commitment and writing, The PART IS not COMPATIBLE with my car. And it is not unfortunately and I am losing almost 300$ for this experience.....I will pay for shipping, don't care, I just need the right part, quite simple from a consumer. Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/02) */ Mr. ***** states he purchased this product from ******** via ****. 1) Mr. *****'s claim is with New Parts. 2) ******** is NOT a customer of BBB's. 3) BBB does not authorize its customers to use eBay as a platform for parts sales. 4) There is no privity of contract here and no sale was made by BBB. 5) BBB was not involved in specifying this part for Mr. ***** - this should have been done by Mr. *****. 6) It is unclear whether the part was even a unit produced by BBB. For these reasons, Mr. *****'s request for replacement is denied and we suggest he seek recompense from those from which he has done business (******** and eBay) if he has no culpability for failing to properly specify a part he purchased on eBay. Consumer Response /* (2000, 7, 2021/12/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.) BBB Industries tech representative called me, and he determine that the company DOES NOT have the proper pump. Therefore, the tech has now updated the Catalog which indicates NOW that the pump number XXX-XXXX IS NOT COMPATIBLE with a Volvo V8 but ratter for a V6 which is very different. I had many written discussions with their customer support manager Mr Garner, and since they have not the "right" pump, they just can't help me. End of story, I lost 300$.
