Dear BBB,I am writing to bring to your attention an urgent matter regarding the radon mitigation system installed by Allied Foundation and Crawlspace at my residence in June of 2022. Recent readings from our in-home radon monitoring system have indicated elevated radon levels, necessitating immediate repairs to the installed system.Despite numerous attempts to address this issue, including multiple phone calls and text messages to both the company owner and the receptionist, regrettably, no response or action has been taken to rectify the problem.Given the critical nature of mitigating radon exposure for the safety and well-being of my household, I am seeking your assistance in urging Allied Foundation and Crawlspace to honor their commitment to service and return to my home to rectify the deficiencies in the installed radon mitigation system promptly.Your intervention in this matter would be greatly appreciated to ensure the proper functioning of the mitigation system and the mitigation of radon levels in my home. I apologize that you guys are having issues, but we do not do anything with radon. There is nothing in your contract about radon. By the contract we did a full encapsulation of the crawl space, but that does not solve radon issues. I would be more than happy to speak with you about the issue. I have spoken to them. We actually went out on 12-14-23 for an annual inspection. We had a couple seams in our plastic that needed taped and we took care of that. We are not a radon company, and I have told them there is nothing we can do for them. The system we installed for them is installed correctly, so she needs a radon company to come outCustomer response

We contacted Allied yesterday (12/19) and spoke with ****, the person who made the latest statement that " we need to contact a radon company." After being rejected by ****, we contacted the owner of the company, *****. He was the original person who was involved in the contract a year ago. He stated that he would come by the house today to investigate the situation. He stated that "he would be the one to address the Radon issue." He came and discover dificiencies and committed to repairing the problems on Thurday. He discovered that the radon system was not working properly and that will add perferated hoses in and around the crawl space, make insulation repairs and re-tape where necessary. We hope that this will resolve the radon issue. Thanks, *************************** ************

THIS COMPANY CAME DID FOUNDATION WORK FOR ME AND DID NOT COMPLETELY INSTALL EVERYTHING. I TOOK AT LOAN AND THEY HAVE BEEN PAID TO COMPLETE JOB. I HAVE CALLED SEVERAL TIMES AND IT IS ALWAYS SOME TYPE OF EXCUSE...MANAGER NOT IN OR PART HASN'T COME IN AND WE GOT GO GET IT. CALLED TODAY AND MANAGER OR OWNER NOT IN AND SECRETARY SAID NO ONE IS AT OFFICE OUT ON CALLS..I NEED HELP WITH THIS BECAUSE I'M PAYING FOR LOAN FOR SOMETHING THAT ISN'T COMPLETED I OWE 7,710.00 I FEEL LIKE AT THIS POINT IT SHOULD BE FREE OR HALF OFF. ******************** called BBB to say nothing has been done at her home. She did speak with a lady from the company a couple of weeks ago about the delay and would like a refund of the money she's paid.

Last week we installed a dehumidifier, the power would not work under the home. At that point the owner tried to call and explain and also to set up an electrician. She has not returned his call.Business response

Mr. ************************* called BBB to say: The crawlspace work is finished. The problem is dehumidifier doesn't have an electrical outlet to be plugged in to. ****************** told ******************** he would pay for an electrician to run electricity to her crawl space. Please note, electrical work is not listed on the contract but ****************** is doing this as a courtesy. ****************** said he has sent an electrician out to your home three times and you were not home. He is offering to send an electrician one last time. Please call ****************** and schedule a date for the electrician to come and install power to the crawlspace for the dehumidifier. If you do not follow through with this BBB will close your case as Invalid.Initial Complaint

Paid $7,920 dollars for job that has never been completed. Paid in full June 2021, told initially waiting on back order to complete job. Now will not return calls and messages. Had another company come look to complete job and was told damage done to structure and wall of basement!Business response

I received a phone call and voice mail while I was at work. Voice mail is offering to now complete the job that has been paid in full since June *************************************************************** full, got the items ordered, etc.
I would like a refund since the job was not completed and damage was done to the property.Business response

I have received one call and voice mail as stated before from the business while I was at work that said they will order the items remaining, that has been the answer since this process began. The trying to reach me several times is simply not true. As I requested initially, I would like a full refund of $7,920 that was paid in full since the job was never completed and damage was done to the property.Initial Complaint

Bait & Switch - Lesser quality materials than identified in the contract (signed on 9/15/20) were used in installation (completed 9/18/20) without the customer's knowledge. Owner said in his sales pitch that AFACS uses ONLY 20 mil encapsulation material. The contract says 20 mil to be used throughout. We later found (on 6/4/21) they installed 12 mil on the floor, 8 mil on the columns & walls. Substandard installation practices - Sump pump & basin lid is not visible or accessible. It should have a visible & accessible gas-tight lid over the sump pump basin for ease of inspection & service. Drain tubing from dehumidifier to sump is spliced, which is a leak potential. Inferior quality tape was used in many locations. Poor Communication & Questionable Ethics - Workers showing up without notice, unreturned text messages & voicemails, unreturned phone calls, promises to show up on specific dates with subsequent failures to do so with no communication as to why.Business response

The customer is requesting that the product has cleanspace on the plastic and we are having shipping issues with the last roll of plastic should have it any day. Without your help it never would have happened! I need them to come back because my dehumidifier isn't working since they left on Tuesday. Allen said he would send someone today. They are supposed to call first. Still waiting.
