For several months, I have received bills from ********* ******** regarding services that were rendered to me 7/29/20 - 7/31/20 by the physical and occupational therapy department. I have spoken with several representatives in ********* ********'s billing office, as well as ***** in the billing office located in the hospital regarding contesting the amount owed. I was told on several occasions that my insurance denied the claims on the basis that I did not have coverage for the services rendered, in which my insurance is correct. ********* ******** billed my insurance for therapy I received on my hands/wrists under my physical therapy coverage which is incorrect. I have told ********* ******** on several occasions that I never received therapy for my hands/wrists by a physical therapist but instead by occupational therapist. Instead of correcting the charges and re-submit ting the claim to my insurance, ********* ******** continously sends me billing statements with high balances owed. I was originally told by the billing office that a review was placed on my account to resolve this matter. From my understanding, my account would be "froze" while in review to prevent collections. I hadn't received an update since I had last spoken with the agent. I called one day to learn that my account was placed with a collection agency which was the opposite of what I was told would happen. I have consulted with my insurance on several occasions who has repeatedly informed me that ********* ******** hasn't resubmitted a corrected claim for the hand therapy I received for those services dates; the only claims they see are for my lower back. I have went to the extremes of having a conference call with ***** (as well as other reps in *********'s billing office) and my insurance company to get this matter resolved - to no avail. ********* refuses to correct the claim and resubmit it to my insurance for reconsideration. Yet, they send me billing statements and threaten collections.
