I purchased a Fence and Gate with opener from ***** at Gulf Coast Gate and Fence. Since its installation I have had repeated issues with the gate closing causing a safety for my animals as they are now able to escape my yard. I have called the company, emailed many many times for them to come and resolve this issue. ***** has not returned a single call or email so I now have non-working $12K fence / gate combo.Initial Complaint

Im the owner of a fencing company. I have ordered and purchased several custom gates from *****, owner of Gulf Coast gate and fence. On November 4th 2022 a ***** full payment for a custom gate and two LiftMaster openers. ***** stated that it would take four weeks for everything to come in. On December 27, 2022. I sent ***** a message via text and asked him if my gate got lost. He responded and said that his delivery ended up falling through that it would ship on the following Friday and that he would email them and get a tracking number that it will be delivered by the end of the week, on January 3, 2023 I sent ***** another text message And asked him for an update. He responded back and told me he would call me back shortly after the multiple missed phone calls that he never returned of mine. I asked ***** via text on January 5. When will the gate be delivered? He told me he would call and get delivery info on January 6 he finally sent me a text with the tracking information. The delivery showed up on Friday, January 20. The gate was the only thing that showed up on this delivery. Both automatic openers was not delivered. I have reached out to ***** multiple multiple times via phone calls and via text since January 6, 2023 and he will not answer nor return text or calls. I paid a total of $3688.98 for the automatic openers I never received as of today I have still not heard from ***** on what the status of or where the automatic openers are. ***** required that my entire order be paid for 100% at timer of ordering.Initial Complaint

Ordered a 16' Dual Swing Aluminum Entry Gate package and a matching walkway gate with hardware from ***** at Gulf Coast Gate and Fence on April 7, 2022 for a total of $*******. Paid a 50% deposit by credit card of $******* on April 7, 2022 to have gates put into production. Invoice stated 5-6 weeks for production and delivery to me in Virginia. I have attempted to contact ******* ********* at Gulf Coast Gate and Fence by phone and by text in order to receive an update on my order but he has failed to return any of my attempts to reach him. I contacted my credit card company today and asked them to reverse the deposit and they agreed to look into the matter. Also want to make BBB aware of the problem.Initial Complaint

On June 15, 2021, I met with ***** (of Gulf Coast Gate and Fence) for the purpose of having a metal fence installed at a new property I was purchasing located at ******************** in ***********. I paid ***** a down payment of $4,485.00. Shortly after our meeting, the sale of the house fell through. I contacted ***** immediately and told him I would have to cancel my order and that I could no longer get the house. He sounded very disappointed. I told him I was sorry, but the sale fell through. I called him 2 or 3 times asking for my money but he was not giving it to me. Lastly, I wrote him a letter demanding my money. He did not respond and has never given me my money. There is nothing in my papers which says no refunds allowed.Business response

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/12/20) */ This custom fence was paid for and worked agreement signed by Ms ****** on 6/15/21 , Ms ****** said from the beginning (THE SOONER THE BETTER)so we ordered and paid for custom fence on 6/16/21 . Close to a month later Ms ****** called and messaged saying the house sale fell through and she needs her money back??? I explained to her then as you can see in the attached messages, that we have already ordered the custom fence from the manufacturer. I have offered several times to try to sell it , but it is a custom design. She seems to only want to hear one thing (refund ) . Our web store policy clearly states no refunds on custom fence ordered incorrectly. I'm not sure why someone would order fence for a property they did not own yet? THIS FENCE HAS BEEN STORED ON OUR PROPERTY NOW SINCE EARLY AUGUST. ALSO PLEASE NOTE HER DEPOSIT DIDNT EVEN COVER THE TOTAL FENCE COST!!! Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/12/20) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) ***** states that I made arrangements to purchase a "custom" fence from him on 6/15/21. There is NOTHING in my Work Agreement that says that the fence I requested is "custom." He further states that there are no refunds given on custom fences that are ordered incorrectly. I did not order anything "incorrectly." I ordered the fence for the purpose of containing 3 dogs. We were to close on the house on 6/30/21. The sale of the house fell through. I immediately called ***** and let him know I was no longer able to buy the house. I requested a refund of the $4,485 I had paid down on the fence. There is nothing in my Work Agreement or on their website that says refunds are not given. I was no longer buying the house, so why wouldn't I ask for a refund. No house, no fence. I don't know what happened in August and I don't know why ***** brought it up. ***** says I seem to be interested in a refund only. WHY wouldn't I? I don't have any other option. I still remain in my original home. I don't need a fence here. No house, no fence, may I please have a refund of the money I put down? Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2021/12/31) */ When I met Ms ****** at the property, I brought a fence sample of our standard stock fence , she looked at it and said it WOULD NOT WORK , that her dogs were small and would fit through the bars. I told here we could special order fence with closer rails and she agreed. Her deposit was picked up and her deposit was used PLUS SOME OF OUR OWN MONEY was used to pay for and order this fence from the manufacturer. And again our website does clearly state no refund on custom orders. I just don't think it is right for us to have to lose this money, or have this NEGATIVE online issue, as WE held up our end of the deal.
