We lived in Arbor Gates from Nov 22 to Jan 24. On several occasions during that year, I received confirmation emails that funds would be withdrawn for rent. However, Arbor Gates would cancel the automatic withdrawals without notifying us and charge late fees for not paying timely. The most recent issue occurred after moving out on January 15, 2024. We paid 2 months rent to break the lease in December 1 as well as the final months prorated rent amount on January 1. We were given an itemized list of possible charges depending on the cleanliness of the apartment. Our apartment was well maintained, but I anticipated a cleaning fee.I checked the resident portal after moving out, and saw some fees, but the itemized description was referencing things like pest control and garbage, which should have been included in our prorated final rent. There was no cleaning fee. I emailed Arbor Gates within the portal which I no longer have access to. I never heard back. I called them and was told we could only speak to a manager about charges. The manager never called us back. I went to call another day, hoping to catch the manager, but I checked my portal before calling. I noticed all fees had been removed from my account and I was showing zero balance due. I assumed everything had been resolved, despite never reaching the manager. I never heard back from Arbor Gates.Today, 3 months later, I find out Arbor Gates sent a bill to collections. Collections is asking for $132 from myself and $132 from my husband. I was never notified of a bill by Arbor Gates. I was never contacted by phone or email or mail. I checked my portal before Feb 1 & showed $0 balance. They simply sent a bill straight to collections without ever attempting to make contact with us. I dont know what the charges are for.I have attempted to contact them, but they wont return my calls. My portal access has been closed because we are no longer residents. They do not have an email for me to contact them.Initial Complaint

Been living there for 6 years, going without heat when it's needed is a big problem. Nothing gets properly fixed and there is electrical issues among other issues. This shouldn't be happening, I'm tired of paying rent in a place where things don't get fixed . And I can't afford to move .Business response

This property was sold to another owner/operator on March 31, 2021. My company no longer has any affiliation with this property.
