I called Mr. ********************** to inquire if he could repair the air conditioning in my daughter's car. I was unsure what was causing the issue. He said it could be a multitude of things ranging from freon to the compressor, but he could check it out and find the issue. I took the car to Mr. ********************** on 5/27/24. He did not tell me what the charge would be to look at the car. He began to put freon in my vehicle without asking me first or quoting me a price. After adding the freon, he said the compressor wasn't turning on. He wasn't sure if the compressor was the issue or not. I was unclear on why he would just add freon without my approval and without thoroughly checking the air conditioning unit/parts related to the air conditioner. He then told me I should take it to another shop because he could not check the compressor. I was unclear on why he would not have told me he was unable to check the compressor and air conditioning system when I called him. He told me the freon would not do any good, and recommended pulling it back out. I had some freon in the vehicle when I took it to him, but he drained it all. Furthermore, he charged me time to remove the freon, when he should not have put it in the first place. He charged me $78.40 for his time, even though he did not diagnose what was wrong, and he did not provide me a quote before checking the vehicle and/or adding freon. He does not have the capability or equipment to check the ** unit, but he misled me. Then, he charged me and told me to go somewhere else to diagnose what was wrong with **, as he could not. I have the receipt which shows he did not have me sign or agree to a price before looking at the vehicle or before adding freon. I called Mr. ********************** to discuss the issue. He was dismissive. He hung up on me, instead of talking to me. He said essentially "Don't bring my car to me, if you're unhappy with the service". I am very disappointed in Mr. **********************, as I have been to him in the past. I am requesting a full refund.Customer response
