On 7/8/21, I signed a contract with John Stewart to extend my patio and tear out/repour my driveway. Total cost = $12,000. I paid a deposit of $4,500 for the job to begin and paid the remaining balance + $250 for the additional work of adding an in concrete basketball goal. Initially, he explained it would be a 3 day job and I was fine with that but it took 3 days to demo and then weeks before concrete was actually poured. He stated he was having issues getting workers. Demo began August 12 and all demo was completed on August 15. While my driveway was in demo state, I was reported to the city of Huntsville twice for a missing sidewalk for more than 2 weeks. The concrete wasn't poured until September 9. John told me the material (concrete) had a 30 day guarantee so I contacted him prior to the 30 day timeframe (9/26) and asked him to come out and look at the workmanship due to the multiple flaws. He asked for photos and I provided them. He then stated that he would be out to take a look. November 5, I contacted John again to come look at the driveway since it was "settling" in even more spaces. I again sent photos. February 1, 2022, I asked John to come look at the driveway again. He did come out in March and "grinded" down some of the roughest spots and claimed he would be back in April to "put something on top" to help. It's now May and I have not seen him since early March.Customer response

MESSAGE FROM BUSINESS: Mr. John Stewart called BBB to check on this complaint. He said he'd been sick, in and out of the hospital. He said he stayed in contact with you during this time.
