Turn Key Construction built a house for me in 2021. We moved in December 2021. Shortly thereafter, a leak was discovered in the body jets of the master shower causing some flooring damage etc. The leak was repaired, but the floor not. In June of 2022 another, much larger, leak occurred in the master shower causing the entire shower floor to have to be replaced. I had to find a contractor to do so as their tile guy wasn't willing to fix the shower back the way it was and was determined to make changes that we didn't feel like would actually fix the problem. After several months of looking for another tile person that was willing to tackle a job that was half finished, I managed to get it repaired for $2,400. Turn Key reimbursed me for half of that cost. HOWEVER, the floor STILL isn't fixed from the original leak. It seems that drywall dust seeped up between the planks and it hardened. It's like concrete. It doesn't come up. I've tried a sharp knife, but that is difficult as well and will damage the floors further. I have extra planks that could be used to replace the damaged ones, but after many, many phone calls, reminders, texts, emails, Turn Key is ignoring me on this matter. Additionally, they are also ignoring me on the fact that a dozen shingles blew off of my roof last December 2022 that were clearly never nailed down. I have sent pictures and he says he can't see where they went. No move to repair or replace them. I could go on, but will leave it at that.

First of all, I want to say that I built her shower per the house plan. The problems have stemmed from the change made by the homeowner and I have incurred this extra expense due to that decision. The shower in the master bath was framed according to the plans with a curb. Before the tile was to be installed in the shower, the homeowner informed me that she wanted a curbless shower. This was not communicated to me until this point and was not on the house plans. I explained to her that this would cause problems since it was not framed to accommodate proper drainage. She had the tile contractor install it without a curb against my advice. The initial leak was due to a plumbing installation problem and was repaired. The second leak was more than likely leaking at the same time but we werent aware of that. The larger leak was due to not having a curb for the shower. I was willing to repair the shower as per the house plan (with a curb) but not as a curbless shower. She agreed to this. I had my tile subcontractor go back to do the repair, after he got there, the homeowner told him to do the repair without a curb. I told him to leave because that was not what we agreed to and didnt want the problem to happen again. I paid for the tile for the repair and half of the labor for the shower to be installed by a subcontractor that the homeowner chose. Until this complaint was filed, I didnt know that the flooring was damaged like it is. I thought that it was just dust. I will pay the labor for Kemps Flooring to come out and replace the damaged flooring. I have repaired a piece of metal that came off of the roof due to the wind once and wasnt notified of the shingles until after her warranty had expired. Her home is in a high wind area.
