Auburn Opelika Dental was bought out by my dentist ****** Huskey. I started the week of thanksgiving of 2021 to obtain my records and offered to sign a medical release form for them to mail them to me and was told that was not necessary. It may take a week to get the records because they were in storage. I called numerous times to check the status of getting my records and they always had an excuse why they had not gotten them. I had it out and told her that if my records were not produced by Monday, January **, 2022 I would call my lawyer. Finally after almost 2 months, January **, 2022 the office manager called and said they were ready and I told her to mail them she said she could not do that because I needed to sign a release form. I told her that I asked for that form over 2 months ago and was told I didn't need to sign 1. I then asked if my mother could come get them she said really hateful I will need a letter stating it is okay. I said if you will look in my records that Dr. Huskey's wife had notated that ******* ***** was my mother and she hatefully said Mrs. Huskey is no longer here I said I know. I prepared a release form and my signature was notarized, I also send my Power of Attorney form. When my mother got to the office to pick up my records the girl at the front desk got really hateful and said I can't give them to you. My mother then raised her voice and the dentist (she thinks) came out to see what was going on and finally gave my mother my medical records. I believe the dentist and her practice need to be exposed of how unprofessional they are and no one should ever do business with them.
