Rettigs was to repair my 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe after a rear end collision. They had the car initially for 7 weeks and did not complete repairs at ****** location. Took it back 5 more times over 6 weeks and it still was not completed properly. Contacted home office in ****** and they said they would complete repairs. It took 3 trips and several more weeks. They used an aftermarket exhaust component to fix damage they did not find initially at the ****** location. The after market part is noisy and not back to factory specifications. When I complained, I was told they could put the old (damaged) part back on but the tailpipe wouldn't fit properly (and the part was damaged) or I could live with the extra noise because it was too costly to put on a factory spec part as it would have driven the cost up and totaled the car. I think they should fix it correctly as they did not find the damage originally. Also, when we took it to ****** the first time, they stated the ****** location didn't have the proper tools to measure gaps and that is why the car was leaking around the tailgate, which ****** "fixed" 3 times. I want my car back to factory specifications. Insurance company is not willing to give me much on diminished value and most of the lost value is due to poor quality of work from the body shop. If they don't want to fix it, they should pay for the repair to be made at a Hyundai dealership or give me the money to cover the cost and/or lost value. I spoke with ***** at the ****** location last and he is the one that gave me the ultimatum of using damaged part or living with it the way it is. Payment was made by ******** Insurance Co. I do not owe any money to the body shop.
