  Dedicated Dental Inc. hosted a free dental day where the promised to give teeth cleaning/ tooth extractions/fillings to the first 100 patients to arrive between 8am and 3pm. At 10:45 this organization began to call up large groups of people to explain that they hadn't expected such a large turnout and would not continue to offer fillings/extractions to the community when neither the timeline nor the limit on participants had been exceeded. I believe the business used exploitive and predatory practices against the very people that they claimed to have helped, in exchange for positive publicity for the dentist office that hosted the event. This organization knew exactly what to expect regarding the amount of people who needed each procedure, because they required an intake form ahead of time, which specifically asked for what procedures were needed by each individual participant.

  Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/10/25) */ RE: Case # XXXXXXXX Thank you Better Business Bureau for giving Dedicated Dentist Inc. the time and opportunity to respond to this complaint. We treated over 100 patients on Saturday, October 9, 2021. Patients seen were offered only one of three dental services free of charge (Cleaning, Filling, or Extraction). We treated patients from 8:00am until 4:45pm. The Free Dental Day event was canceled twice because of CoVID-19 this required a longer online marketing program. Unfortunately, the online responses we received did not adequately provide the patient numbers or procedures desired. The news media coverage on the day before and the day of the event was an announcement to inform local area residents (who may or may not have internet access) of the service this nonprofit was providing to the community. Dedicated Dentist Inc. Free Dental Day event is supported by volunteers, none of them are paid. However, they enjoy providing good dental health to the community. I am saddened to learn about the consumer complaint, however, I have had and continue to have a series of meetings with the executive board to improve Dedicated Dentist Inc. future Free Dental Day events. I volunteer my service as a dentist year-round at a local medical clinic here in Mobile, because of the extreme need. I am proud of the small contribution I can make to the community.
