On Wednesday, October 18, 2022, my father, *********************** was found dead in his apartment 107. On Thursday, October 20, 2022, I came to retrieve somethings that belonged to my father and his stuff was taken without my knowledge. On Friday, October 21, 2022, I was being told by one of your staff , I can not let you in because your name is not listed on the contact list and the only people we are aware of is ******* and ****** so I was unable to have access to my fathers apartment complex to retrieve my personal furniture and or things that are allowed to me because my name was not listed on his emergency contacts. However, I reside in *********, *******. I have documentation to show that I am legally his son. I would like to have access immediately to move my things and to also file a police report of not being aware of his things being missed or stolen. Please give me a phone call at **********.My information is as follows:********************************* *******************************************************************************************

      12/02/2022

Good afternoon ********************, My name is *************************** and I'm the property manager at Cottonwood Senior Apartment. I'm emailing in reference to a complaint we received on 10/23/2022 by ***************************************. The ** number is ********. At Cottonwood Senior Apartments we have an Emergency Contact Log for all of our residents. Its a Security binder that was created by upper management to keep the residents safe and secure at all times. Inside this binder is a list of all the residents with their apartment numbers along with who they would like to have listed in case of an emergency. The residents are allowed to have as many family and friends listed as they desire. Mr. *********************** had his two grand daughters listed by the name of ******* and *************************** with their telephone numbers. After ************** passed away *************************************** came to Cottonwood demanding that we open his "father's" apartment. This was the first time I and any of the staff have ever seen ******************** before. We knew ******* and *****, his two grand daughters who were at Cottonwood every other day to take their grandfather to his doctor's ************ or to take him grocery shopping, so when ******************** claimed he was Mr. *********************** son we were very taken back because 1) we never seen him before and 2) He was not on the Emergency Contact. I explained to ******************** due to the safety of the residents we cannot just let him into someone's apartment without proper verification. I asked ******************** if he was able to present a ***** of ******** , and he was not able to do so. The Emergency Contact Binder was created by upper management to keep the residents safe and the only way management can over ride the binder is with a ***** of ******** which ******************** could not present. The only 2 individuals who had keys to ************** apartment was his two grand daughters that he had the office to make copies for. I told ******************** to contact his cousins in reference to his father's belongings. I did speak to ******* and she informed me that she allowed ********* to get his belongings from the apartment so I'm very confused on what he is claiming that was missing. If you have any questions please feel free to give me a call at ************.
