During the month of June 2017 I purchased an air conditioner unit from Myers Comfort Specialist. Beginning the next year in June 18, 2018, July 31 2019, November 6,2021, December 21,2022, May 7,2023 and March *******. I have had problems out of this unit. Myers come out each time and repair it and charged me two hundreds or more to fix it. The unit is not working now and Myers want to charge me over nine hundreds to repair it. The unit has a 10 year warranty buy, each time they refused to honor it. Myers Comfort Specialist installed the unit. Now they have an attitude and talk down to me.

Yes customer purchased a new HVAC system from **************************************************************** on 10/4/2017.  The purchase came with a 10 yr parts and 5 yr labor warranty.  Unfortunately the labor warranty is expired and the customer will owe for labor and freon.  This customer called us on 4/16/2024 stating her HVAC unit is not cooling and she put a work order into her home warranty company American Homes Shield.   We went out to her house on 4/16/2024 and diagnosed an evaporator leaking freon.  This unit is coming up on 7 year old and this can happen.  We submitted a diagnoses to her home warranty company AHS that the evaporator coil is leaking and the warranty company will pay for our labor and the part should be under warranty.  The amount the customer was charged was for State Code items, modifications and the majority of the freon that AHS does not cover equaled a total or $2135.  Our service manager ***** spoke to the home owner a couple of times and agreed to charge her only $800 to $1000 out of her pocket to replace the Evaporator Coil.  She want us to give her money instead of us fixing the problem.  That is not how we operate.  She could possibly get a cash out from AHS.  We have tried to work with the customer and she is not in agreement to anything we are offering her.  We feel like we have done our part in trying to satisfy the customer.

rejecting this response because: This coil was replaced in 2023 and now it need replacing again. Ever since I had the unit from Myers they have had to do first one thing and then another every year. I don't think they are a good company.

      Sincerely,

We had a brand new air conditioner put in around April 2019 by Myers Comfort Specialists in Montgomery AL and every year since then they have had to come out and fix something. We had wiring outside and inside that was faulty, we had a compressor that went out February 2023 and its out now. We had a service call around July 7th and was told by a tech that it was froze up because we had not changed the filter. A week later the air conditioner went out again and a Myers Tech told us the compressor went out. On July 22nd we contacted Myers again and was told that Supervisor wanted to come out and check to make sure the compressor was out. Supervisor came out and confirmed that the compressor was out, assured us he would get on line and find us a compressor, July 25th I called the office and was told it will take 2-3 weeks to get a compressor. Its 96 degrees outside, we purchased two window units we are using but it is still miserably hot in our house. We paid up front for our unit out of our own hard earned money and we have had nothing but issues out of this air conditioner. We want a working air conditioner and we want it done promptly since it is still under warranty. Myers has misdiagnosed our issue, delayed ordering of the part we need and we are suffering the consequences. We have small animals in our home and we do not want anything happening to them. I have a heart condition and dont need to be under heat exhaustion. They are bad about answering my calls or texts.

I have spoke with the customer this morning in regards to this matter.  It is unfortunate that we are not able to get the part here sooner.  We do not manufacture the parts here at our location and have contacted our local distributor and they have ordered the part and have given us an ETA for 2-3 week.  The part was ordered on 7/21/2023.  We have found out since I spoke with the customer this a.m. that this part might be available in ********.  We have our local distributer here in Montgomery checking to see if one is available and we can get it here at a earlier date.  I have spoke again to the customer and given him the information about the part possibly being available in Marylan.

I filed a claim with my home warranty company, ******** **** ****** on 7/11/22 for service for air conditioning. It is now 7/21/22 and the problem has not been fixed. ******** **** ****** assigned Myers Comfort Specialist and 3 different people have come out. They each have been here for 10-15 minutes and say there is a clogged drain, however do not stay even 5 minutes to see if the problem has been resolved. I was told on Tuesday, July 19 that I would be called for when they would come back to replace the drain. No one has called me. My upstairs is 88 degrees. I have pets showing signs of heat exhaustion. It is completely unbearable to be in my home.

I have a warranty with AHS. They sent Myers out to check my AC. It froze up on July 4th and started blowing hot air. A tech came out and called me to let me know the coil was broken and there was a leak. He told me there was no reason to run the air because it had no refrigerant in it. When I got home that day, he had left the AC running and it was blowing hot air. A part was ordered and when the installer came, he checked the outside and the condenser was broken and there was a leak outside. It has been 2 weeks since I first reported the claim and they can't get to it until the 22nd of July. I have had to board my 2 dogs and it was over $****** plus another $***** to rent a motel room. I am out of money and out of patience. The heat makes me sick and my dogs can't take it either. If Myers wants to pay for my dogs being boarded until my air is repaired, they can and I will take them back to boarding them. They won't let me talk to a manager. I don't know what else to do. It is my understanding that some of the installers have Covid. After 2 weeks, I think I should be at the front of the line.

I had ***** come out November20.2021 paid 130.00 The tech came out *** and looked at my heater for 5 mins and said it was the blower wheel that had come apart and he could not fix until Monday. So he said we could not run it so we were without heat when i was 28 degrees. so Monday the company never called so i called and they said they were working on finding the part but would not be about to come out Monday as stated on the Saturday work order. I never heard back then i called back in a few hrs. they stated it would be four hundred dollars to repair. I called another company because I had to have heat after three days but the other company came and it was not the problem at all as ***** tech *** said. They complete the repair. the Lady at ***** i spoke with *** was rude also. I have emailed the company about the problem but they have not responded. I would like my money returned that *** got on Sat. the 130.00 also would like 300.00 for what other company changed since ***** left me without heat for three days when I was below freezing temps.

Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2021/11/29) */ Contact Name and Title: *** Office Manager Contact Phone: XXX-XXX-XXXX Contact Email: ***@myerscomfort.com I am *** the office manager that spoke with Mr. ****** and felt we had a good conversation and don't feel I was rude at all. Sam went out on Saturday 11/20 and diagnosed the blower wheel and could not get the part to replace it on Saturday due to supply house closed. Monday 11/22/2021 we located the part and I called Mr. ****** to give him the cost of $400 to replace wheel and he stated he would call us back. Never heard back from him. Mr. ****** does not state what the other companies diagnosis was that cost $300. I don't feel this is our responsibility when we did our part and was waiting on Mr. ****** to call us back. Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2021/11/30) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) i do think there reasonable because there tech did not diagnose it correct so what they want to do would not be correct. So as *** ask what other company replaced they replaced the blower motor not the wheel as her tech stated was coming apart that was not correct. So this why i feel they owe me money because what i paid them we for nothing. i would like to end by saying looking at other complaints this seems to be a normal practice for this company.
