We purchased 3 gallons of sweet tea from *******. The expiration date were all April 30. We opened all the jugs and they all tasted like they had a fruit flavor. We tasted all three and they all had a fruit flavor. I am allergic to raspberries' and was afraid it may have been that. These were all Red Diamond brandBusiness response

Red Diamond reached out to the consumer directly to obtain more details on the sweet tea (Exp. April 30) for investigation purposes. With the information provided by the consumer, the manufacturing facility was able to review the production records and taste the product retains. No off trends were found in the production records and no fruit flavor was tasted from the retains. The only products produced that day, and on the same production line, were unsweet tea followed by sweet tea. No fruit-flavored product was processed before nor after the sweet sea. The fruit flavor noted by the consumer can be due to spoilage of the tea which can be perceived by some people as giving the tea a fruity taste. Spoilage can occur before the best by date if the product suffers temperature abuse during or after the distribution process before the product is consumed. Red Diamond provided the consumer with the results of our investigation and sent replacement vouchers for the product.Initial Complaint
