      Met on Thursday 12/30/22 at Walmart parking lot. Notice sign on truck Nichols Remodeling & Home Improvements, call for a free estimate, stating that he had acceptable credentials. He asked me for contact information and he told me that he would be by on Sunday 1/2/22 for estimate. On Sunday he told me he had Monday to Wednesday free to work on my kitchen and after he had a big job to do. We agreed verbally upon a price and asked for me to go with him to ***** to get materials. While there I questioned the validity of the purchases, and he explained it would be needed. He wanted a 50% down cash deposit for the work. That I refuse to give him that much but gave him $340 cash deposit to begin the work on Monday, 1/3/22. He did not show up Monday because stating that it was due to snow, even though he was out with friends and had an accident that night. But he would come on Tuesday, 1/4/22. He showed up Tuesday after taking a couple of small cabinets down, he wanted to go to ***** and ********** again for more supplies which we did. He unloaded the materials, left claiming of back pain due to his accident the night before and was going to a doctor. The last time I was able to text him was on Wed. 1/4/22, he said he had surgery that day and another one on Thursday. I have tried to call him and text him for the last couple of weeks with no answer, he has not responded and he has blocked me. . I have had 2 different contractors to give me estimates, and both have told me that the items that Mr. Nichols have me purchase where excessive and not part of my job. I am having to pay to have big items returned and find someone to do the job. It is very distressing not just monetarily but he may be doing it to others as well. It would be good if I could get my $340 back. This is a great concern to me and anyone who is a senior.
