Took car to boe's auto a little over a year ago to have spark plugs and coil packs put on they charged me $275. Had issue with vehicle on 10/7/23 running rough. Check engine light came on saying misfire in coil 2. Popped the cover thats over the coils to check coil 2 and to find out when they installed coil 2 they broke the locking mechanism and put a zip tie to the coil and the adapter. Had my parents Monday 10/09/23 Monday take it to them to fix it. Got it back Tuesday 1010/23 to find out they charged us $300 plus for a new coil and labor and told me that a loose connector wouldn't cause a coil to burn out. I asked my friend and brother who are mechanics said he's lying that a loose coil connector will cause a coil to burn out and even more. So they charged more money just for one coil and install than when I had them install 8 coils and spark plugs a year ago.

The customer is trying to say that we are trying to charge him twice for the same services on his vehicle, that statement is false.  The customer brought his car to use last year according to my shop records it was 7/22/22 when he picked up his car from our shop. On the initial service all the customer requested was an inspection and the spark plugs to be re-gapped which we did and he came and paid us for.  There was no parts purchased by us to be installed on his vehicle at this service.  The customer had his father bring the car back to us the on 10/9/23 for a rough running condition.  We found the rough running was caused by a dead ignition coil, after this we worked up an estimate for repairs and called the customers father for approval of repairs and he was going to talk to his son, the owner of car.  After we got approval for repairs we ordered genuine dealer parts, an ignition coil and a connector for that coil and repaired the vehicle. After repairs completed the customers father came and got the car.   Our shop does have a warranty period for all parts that is 1 year or 12 thousand miles which ever comes first, but the initial inspection a year ago did not include any parts and this years repair all parts and labor was approved before completion.
