On 5/9/24, my husband reached out to a gentleman who had previously performed septic work at our home in January 2024. We asked him to provide us with a copy of his business license and proof of being bonded and insured. After he sent us the documents, upon review, we decided to hire him to repair our outside septic pump. 5/17/24, Mr. ******************** arrived at our home to survey the issue and informed us what the problem was and left to go purchase the part he needed to repair our pump. When he returned to our home to start the repairs, he cut the internet and phone line, in which we had to pay to get repaired. After he completed the septic job, he assured us that all was well, so we paid him for his services, he gave us a receipt, and then he left. Three days later, we noticed standing water in the front of our yard and a sewage smell where he was supposed to repair the septic pump. We contacted him, and he informed us that he was out of town and could only come back out to service our pump the following week which would have been 5/30/24. On 5/29/24, he contacted us to cancel our appointment stating that he had an emergency family problem. Mr. ******************** sent his assistant to our home on 6/4/24 who stated that we now may need to repair the septic lines. He stated that to check the lines, he would have to obtain a camera and, dig up the area he was in, and run the camera to give us an accurate diagnosis. He informed us that the cost for this was estimated at an additional cost of $1500 outside of the $1300 that we had already paid him. We reached out to the Jefferson County *********** and spoke with an inspector who informed us that he would come to our home to check the lines. Once the inspector arrived, he surveyed the area and told us that the pump that Mr. ******************** used was a cheap inadequate pump for what we needed for our home. We had to end up contacting another company along with the health inspector to let us know that Bones Plumbing installed the wrong pump.
