On August 18th, 2021, I dropped off my computer with Computer Doctor LLC. I paid the initial $65 for the diagnostics fee and went on my way. On August 19th, I received a text requesting to call the office. There, we discussed repair options and I was informed that the computer should be ready by the following Thursday. The cost of repairs would be totaling roughly $190. I asked if it would be alright to pick up the computer at a later date, due to my paycheck being bi-weekly, which I was assured it would be. Between the days of September 6th and 10th, the office was closed for bereavement. On the 14th, I contacted the shop and was told that the clerk was working on the computer as we spoke and that he would contact me when he had results. It has been over two months since the initial drop-off of the computer. Since the last call on the 14th, I have called and left multiple messages with the shop. There has been no attempt to contact me through the provided numbers. The current work order is #****.

Business Response /* (1000, 7, 2021/11/08) */ If the customer lives on Earth then I'm sure he is aware that we are just coming out of a pandemic we're in every company in the world is experiencing delays in whatever service they offer. The customer should also know that there are shipping delays with parts by every shipping carrier in the world. When the customer checked his computer in for diagnostics, he was met by a big sign that clearly states, "Due to heavy workload repair times will be longer" We performed the diagnostics and determined that the motherboard had suffered damage due to some type of electrical surge thus preventing power from getting to portions of the mainboard. The customer was advised of the two below options #1 approve the replacement of the gaming motherboard with a new one #2 allow us to attempt to repair the existing motherboard with the understanding that if the repair failed, the customer would still need to purchase a new motherboard. This customer in order to save money choose to go for the repair option, at which time he was there again advised that this is a long process a probing the board to find the short. Because this process can be lengthy, we can not focus all day, every day on this one particular job. We have therefore had to bounce back and forth between other jobs and this customer's job. Since the customer has filed this complaint we have decided to reassemble his computer and get it ready for him to pick up so that he can find another repair shop that will dedicate all of their time to his job only. We currently have other jobs in our store waiting for repair that have been in the store longer then his repair job. The computer will be reassembled, in its current condition and ready for him to pick up anytime after 1pm on Tuesday, November 9th. We understand that customers need their computers back as soon as possible, but we have explained to every customer at check-in the delays that they will encounter in our repair process due to small shipment of parts as well as being short-staffed. Thank you, Computer Doctor Alabama LLC
