The long story is our puppy took 6 days to transport, we ended up having to put the puppy down three days after it was delivered and a cost of 4300.00. After much back and forth with the owner Shaun who took no blame but pointed the fingers at everyone else but his company and driver. He agreed to give us our transportation cost back of 740.00, I signed the paperwork he sent me and returned it to him and we have heard nothing from him since even though we have emailed him several times asking for the status of the money he said he would return. Thank you Richard ********

      The Bottom Line:
Mr. M******* was delivered a healthy Yorkie puppy, kept it for over 17 hours, then took it for veterinary care. It tested for Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) which generally happens in around 3 hours without eating. He later chose to have the puppy euthanized, "put down" as he referred to it, against  documented veterinary advice.
We cover the condition of animals in our possession, not of those we've delivered almost a full day prior to receiving care. Mr. M******* stated that he and his wife slept for roughly the first 8 hours after receiving the puppy and had a difficult time getting her to eat after that. This is absolutely tragic and heartbreaking, but not something we could have prevented in any way. While we understand their hurt and frustration, we are also hurt and frustrated that they have chosen to direct that energy toward our company which has successfully transported hundreds of Yorkie puppies, nationwide, and is dedicated to do so with compassion and professionalism.

Unfortunately the only pure truth in this review is that Bailey's Best Care transported a puppy for Mr. M******* and that he chose to euthanize the puppy against documented veterinary advice.

Mr. M******* called and demanded we pay thousands of dollars, which included veterinary care, the likely unnecessary euthanasia of the puppy, and the cost of a replacement puppy, despite the fact that the puppy had been in his care almost a complete day before being tested for what amounts to what a layperson would refer to as a "sugar crash". Furthermore, the veterinary report specifically stated that the puppy might just need a couple of days to recover, especially if it didn't have a liver shunt. The report advised a liver bile test be administered. Since Mr. M******* elected to euthanize the puppy without pursuing the test, we will never know, with certainty, the cause of the hypoglycemia, whether it was the 17+ hours it went between it's trip, when it was provided constant access to food and water, or a pre-existing liver condition.

      Concerning Time on Board:
Two of the breeder's puppies were booked to travel with our company, the M*******s' going to Maryland, and another going to Georgia. The breeder placed the M*******s's puppy on board the wrong van, which was scheduled to go to Georgia, then Florida. We transported the puppy to Maryland as quickly as we could after being notified of the mistake, this being when the driver was already in Georgia. Other pets were on board and we could not skip them because of her mistake. The driver did an excellent job and delivered a healthy puppy just over five days after pickup. For a shared transport, scheduled for Georgia and Florida, then, afterward, rerouted to Maryland, it was simply the best outcome possible. This has been discussed with the USDA and is not, in any way, a violation or neglect on our part. Hypoglycemia in a Yorkie puppy is a quickly occurring event, one that takes place over the course of hours, not days.

      Concerning Reimbursement:
Out of compassion, our owner reached out to Mr. M******* personally to voluntarily offer to refund the cost of the trip. This is after having covered expenses and paid our driver. The only request was that both Mr. M******* and his wife separately complete forms agreeing to those terms. To the date of this reply, that request has yet to be met. Furthermore, Mr. and Mrs. M******* almost immediately, after agreeing to that arrangement proceeded to join the breeder on social media in attempts to tarnish the reputation of our company, primarily with exaggerated statements. Again, the offer of reimbursement was made out of compassion, with absolutely no obligation from our company, as we fulfilled our obligation and performed more than we originally agreed to, due to the mistake of Mr. M*******'s Breeder.

We are not a perfect company. One does not exist. Were the complaint about communication, expediency, or something more subjective, we would gladly take constructive criticism, get better, and move on. When criticism is intended destructively instead, and it is either greatly exaggerated or just plain false, we do feel a need for rebuttal. Moreover, we went above and beyond anything reasonable to attempt to satisfy Mr. M******* in this case. He was understandably upset, misguidedly toward us, and just could not be satisfied, despite our best efforts.

one of the worst experiences of my life. They hauled my puppy all over the east coast for 6 days. I was begging them to do something. Shaun Bailey stopped taking my calls. The puppy died at a ER vet clinic with a Vet bill of about $6000. and he refuses to pay anything on that or the price of the puppy. Dont use this crook its horrible, they got her from me in Oklahoma went to Georgia ...why I dont know she was going to Maryland gone 4 days was back in tennessee (1 day drive from Me had I known I could have met and gotten her there) then he picked up dogs up and down the east coast and delivered her the 6th day at 2:35 AM Sunday morning when all vet clinics were closed. It was a total night mare. DO YOU UNDERSTAND---the puppy is DEAD and Shaun ****** Owner of Baileys Best (Worst care) Pet transport did it and now he doesnt pay for this horrible mistake (ON purpose really! ) contact me if you want more info on this Guy !

Hi Kathy, Thank you for your feedback. As the owner of Bailey's Best Care, I personally reached out to the puppy's owners to express my condolences. While our driver performed extremely well under adverse circumstances, and our company provided the services we promised and more, I did offer a full refund out of compassion for the family. Having said that, I do feel it is important to distinguish between your account and the documented, factual events of this particular transport. As we do this, please keep in mind that two things can both be true: A tragedy did occur; at the same time, our company provided a professional service and did not contribute to this puppy’s death. We take responsibility for what happens on our transports. This puppy, though, was taken to an ER with suspected Hypoglycemia (sugar crash).17 hours and 25 minutes after we delivered. A human child, 10-15 times the weight of a small Yorkie, could experience a blood sugar drop in 17 hours. This breed is documented to do so in well under 3 hours. We simply cannot hold ourselves liable indefinitely after transporting a pet. First, I will remind you that we had a van reserved to transport this puppy to Maryland on a shared transport, which would have taken 2-3 days. Instead, you placed the puppy on a van that arrived to pick up a puppy for a customer in Georgia. That customer had canceled her purchase with you in April without informing us. This puppy was delivered as quickly as possible to Maryland without forcing other pets on board to skip their deliveries because of your mistake. It was an honest mistake, but we could not penalize other pets for it. Still, the puppy was not on board for 6 days. That is untrue. The driver delivered in 5 days, 9 hours. During those 5 days and 9 hours, the puppy was clean, with food and water available at all times. Video taken multiple times throughout the transport confirms this. I never stopped taking your calls. Throughout the transport, we do not have a single missed call from you to our office number. You did call our Google Voice line multiple times. We use that line only to establish text communications between our driver and our clients. We explain this in the initial text and reminded you several times throughout the process.. The puppy did not simply "die" at the ER. It was euthanized, against the advice of the veterinarian, before a cause of death was established. The veterinarian recommended waiting for a liver bile test, stating that a shunt would be the primary reason a recovery would be difficult. If a bile test revealed no shunt, a full recovery would be more likely. We delivered The puppy at 2:29 A.M. on a Sunday morning. The reason for the early morning hour is that the clients requested we deliver asap. Our driver would have happily waited until a later hour. The 24 hour clinic at which the owners later brought the puppy, was open during this time. While my heart breaks for the puppy and her owners, I cannot provide never-ending coverage for pets post-delivery. 17 hours and 25 minutes is simply too long for a small puppy to be out of our care for us to assume responsibility for a condition such as hypoglycemia. I have confirmed this with multiple veterinarians, including the staff at the facility at which the puppy received care. The clients could just as easily claim you responsible and I would defend you based on the fact that no liver bile test was taken. In this case, a tragedy is simply a tragedy. I am still waiting for the owners to respond, so I can refund their transport. It is my understanding you helped them with a new puppy. That is, in my opinion, the level of compassion we each should show in this circumstance. God bless you and your beautiful puppies going forward. Shaun Bailey

I'd like to address Shaun Bailey comments. And if possible I'll post evidence that Shaun Bailey is wrong. 1. He states I had 2 puppies booked to ship by some woman I NEVER heard of and 2 vans were coming to my house to pick up puppies. Let me make this very clear I DID NOT HAVE A PUPPY BOOKED TO SHIP TO GEORGIA. If their driver Cameron opened his eyes and read the envelope with USDA health certificate, akc papers and shot record in it he would have clearly seen the name and address of the lady in Maryland. NOT GEORGIA. Here is a photo of what I handed Cameron. Shaun Baileys driver. Lynda m******* sent me this photo. Also Shaun Bailey said A Jessica L***** booked the shipment. Yet he told me no deposit was made and no home address or phone number as far as I know was had from Jessica L*****. Show me proof of any such person ever booking a transport! Then blame them because it was not me! 2. The very last thing I told Cameron was to keep this pups dry food in front of her at all times. He promised to move down the road some to give her tummy TIME to adjust to the van ride and feed her. I also sent 2 Lil Ceasers as a supplement food. Lynda M******* informed me after this mess started Cameron handed them the bag of Eukanuba puppy food 30% protein and Cameron said I wouldn't even feed this stuff its no good ! THE BAG WAS STILL FULL.... NONE HAD BEEN FED ! 3. I'm not holding Bailey indefinitely liable... I'm holding him liable for 6 days of constant dragging that pup up and down the east coast for 6 days. I took this photo. Monday may 15th at 2:45 pm within a few hours of my getting back from my Vet getting a USDA HEALTH certificate. She was found healthy If Cameron had of checked that health certificate he would have seen that pup was going to Maryland. NOT GEORGIA. I might add it's illegal for Baileys to ship any animal with out this USDA health certificate. Cameron should have made sure I had that document for him that day.... he did NOT check it and I asked him if he needed to look at it... he said no! 4. BAILEY says this puppy was kept hours before treatment. I'll agree to some of this. The puppy was delivered about 2:30 to 3 am Sunday morning the 6th day. (Monday thru Sunday count its 6 days) and at 3 am on a Sunday morning what vet clinic is open ? They took her on as soon as they found a place to take her. The vet clinic ran tests for parvo. Test for parasites. They tested everything you could think of.. and YES he refused a bile liver test because it would have cost the M*******'s more and more money and would not have solved the issue. The day they took her to the ER VET CLINIC was may 21 her temperature was 98.6. Normal for a puppy is 101 she was in critical condition. As it was the vet bill was over $4000. The m*******s talked with me before the decision was made to stop her pain and put her down in a humane way. She was buried at the M*******'s home. 5. When I found out that puppy was taken to Georgia I text Cameron and Baileys office begging them to fly that puppy to Maryland. They ignored me. I have tons of text trying to fix this mess and all I got was blamed for sending the wrong puppy... Good grief I know what pups I have and I did NOT HAVE a second puppy to ship. Let him Prove I did ! He can't because I didn't have a second puppy to ship. Below is a copy of a text I sent him may 17th when he was in Georgia This is Kathy o****. The transport guy just sent lynda Morris a text and says he will get puppy to her by SATURDAY ! Are you kidding me..... this is totally unexpectable. Ive never dealt with a business like this in my life. Some body better get this mess straightened out FAST! Same day may 17th I sent this to Bailey This is Kathy o****... I heard tbY poor pup is not arriving till saturday... I wNt management to book a flight from where ever the heck it is now any YOU pay to fly that puppy to Lynda m*******.... this is the worst managed business I've ever encountered tered.... if so.ething isn't done fast to get her to Lynda. Im. Calling USDA AND opening a complaint against this so called company... this is TOTALLY UNEXCEPTABLE. Please excuse the typing I was mad and no one was listening. I have a lot more messages if you need them I'll be glad to send them all to you. This business is a disaster... read his reviews on yelp.com. he's killed more than one animal. He hides behind lots of words but his words are lies. I've also turned him into USDA I hope to get his license pulled for good I've raised AKC YORKIES FOR 41 YEARS... BAILEYS BEST CARE IS a unorganized mess no one knows what to do where to go or who's booked to travel. NEVER AGAIN will I use this mess company. NEVER
