My wife posted in an area Face Book page, looking for a local appliance repairman. ****** answered the post saying he could take a look at our dishwasher for $40, and the total would be $100, plus parts if he was able to fix it. On January 16th ****** showed up well after the time he promised. Spent about an hour working on it, stating that there was debris in the filters and that was likely the issue. We thanked him for coming out and paid him $100. He made it very clear that we needed to let him know if it didn't work, so he could come back and finish the job. My wife informed him the same afternoon (5:07pm) that it was not fixed. He replied, twice, he'd be back first thing the next morning. At 9:26 the next morning my wife messaged him on FB, asking when he was planning to be here to finish the job. He stated he would be back here around 1:00pm. My wife informed him that she would be here until 3pm. At 1pm he stated he was still at the lawyer's office and didn't know if he'd make it by 3pm. ****** never did make it that day (January 17, 2023). Again, he stated we would be his first stop on January 18. Late the morning of Jan. 18th, my wife posted in the same group he answered, initially, that he hadn't kept his word to finish the job. He messaged my wife saying he was planning on coming to finish the job until he saw her post in the area FB page. She explained to him that her post was not meant to be malicious, but factual. He said he would come back that same day and finish. She promised to delete the post if he kept his word this time. He has not come back or communicated with us since that. I left 2 messages on his voicemail asking him to let us know his intentions so we would know whether to wait on him or hire someone else. I also informed him that I felt he was in violation of the agreement since our dishwasher still does not work, but we paid him $100, which was the agreement for a repair. He never did respond to me.
