      Moved another tenant in before my lease expired with my utilities still on

      This is simply not true. No one has occupied the premises and will not until the official end of the lease. The only people who have been in the unit are maintenance people who were fixing minor issues before making it ready for the next tenant to move in AFTER the end of the lease. No one is using utilities in her name. We have not changed the locks either. She still had the correct key to the unit. These are false claims. On December 2nd, Judy submitted a work order regarding a heat issue. Our Office Manager Erika scheduled maintenance to go take care of it. Judy was at the end of her lease and indicated that she had vacated. All of the correspondence and messages are all recorded in our software. On December 13, the property manager Alejandra went by to do the final inspection and noticed the oven door seal needed to be replaced. So maintenance went back in to fix that.

      DON'T RENT FROM THIS COMPANY Our move-in date was on 11/10 and the place was NOT move in ready. The place was covered in damages and had ROACHES!!! The manager, Erica didn't apologize or have any kind of sympathy for the situation - and just acted like we were being unreasonable. She refused to come on our move-in date to tour the unit with us and see the state that the unit was in. She agreed to come 11/11 but was 30 minutes late to the meeting. Didn't even act surprised when she saw the unit - when we asked who did the walk she stated that the cleaning company and maintenance does the walk-through. Obviously, they are used to seeing units completely destroyed or bug-infested because that unit was nowhere near move-in ready. This was unacceptable and no one has even offered as much as an apology for the experience. I did get a complete refund for my deposit and rent but that was a no-brainer. I had held up my part of the bargain and they couldn't even provide a unit that didn't have a roach problem. Stay away from these people and save yourself the heartache/stress. These people shouldn't be responsible for where people lay their heads at night. They lack compassion, professionalism, and common sense. If I didn't have a word limit I would post my entire review that I also left on Facebook - with pictures proof as well. I hope the owners see this and reach out to me regarding the issue because when I asked for their contact information they just told me to get it online.

      First, Hayli, as much as we appreciate your feedback, I think you failed to mention that you have been refunded every penny of your deposit, etc in an extremely timely manner (48 hours), as we actually expedited the payment due to the circumstances. This is not the way you can typically expect to find a unit when you move into an Elder Management property. Coordination of the move-in was not scheduled correctly with the crew. Secondly, Leland, your husband, never complained about the paint or cleaning when he did the walk through. Apparently your best friend was there and said Hayli would prefer a new refrigerator and new stove. Erika walked the entire unit with Leland and they were taking notes in regards to all the things that he was mentioning. Erika even offered Leland the chance to change the move in date for November 15th so they could resolve any issues. She pro rated the rent and told him that you would have a credit towards December’s rent and he was fine with that, at the end of the inspection he told Erika I’m going to talk to my wife and let you know because I really like the duplex, he said the bedroom floors are really nice, Erika even told him that she was going to talk to management about changing the refrigerator and stove due to the inconvenience and he was fine with that. Then, after saved phone messages, Leland decided to cancel the lease on Monday. When you, Hayli, came to the office on Tuesday to pick up the check, you were very hateful and disrespectful to our staff, which is not acceptable. They did not say anything back to you due to your behavior and they said if you have concerns feel free to email [email protected] The unit was leased the same day that you cancelled the lease, and the tenant moved in the following day without any complaints.

      I paid $850 deposit on what was described as a duplex with a garage on Facebook. When I went to check out the unit it was an apartment building with 6 units and no garage for the one I was looking at.. The lady I spoke with said that we can just cancel lease because this all happened the same day. Said we can just cancel & would only be charged for the application fee & I would get my $850 back in 120 DAYS!!!! Are you KIDDING ME?? then she said to just dispute it with my bank and I should get my money faster... it has now only been like 45 days and no money. This was my deposit money for a new place ... I don't have the money to just wait 120 days.... Now I'm staying with family and waiting on my money... not 1 phone call from any type of management or owner. NOT 1 PHONE CALL This company does not care!!! I will try to update if I ever get my $$ ☹️:-(

      This is not true. All our Facebook posts, website listings and all advertising specifically describe Cedar Circle as either a downstairs unit with a garage or an upstairs unit without a garage. We also have an exterior picture of the building which clearly shows it is not a duplex. Before you paid the deposit and executed the lease, you had an in depth conversation via text message with our leasing manager who offered you either an upstairs unit without a garage or a downstairs unit with a garage. You decided you wanted the downstairs unit with the garage.

      Since you paid your deposit and administrative fee with a credit card/debit card, we cannot refund a person for 60 days as the Fair Credit Billing Act, which is a federal law, allows people to dispute the charges for up to 60 days. Luckily we did not refund you prior to the 60 days since you have disputed the transaction. Had we refunded you prior to the 60 day, we would be have lost $850. You made the choice of disputing the transaction, so the funds being returned to you is up to your credit card/debit card company, not us. It is out of our hands. Had you not disputed the transaction, we would be able to refund next week.

      Our leasing manager had several conversations with you regarding the property, your refund, etc.

      We never told you it would take 120 days. This is a lie.

      We are not a horrible company to rent from. Our maintenance is top notch and our staff always handles themselves in a very professional manor.

      We find it hard to believe these statements are true since you have made the choice to live with us for 4 years and in 3 different properties. If someone truly felt this way, why in the world would they make the choice to live with us for so long and ask to be upgraded to other properties? The answer is they would not.

      We hope you can find happiness and wish you the best with your next landlord or property management company.
