4-5 years ago I had to move back to the current state I am in now. I had a account with this bank. I had money in the account. I called the bank to up the withdraw limit to empty the account because I am thousands of miles away and wanted to close the account since this bank is not in the state I live in. I get the upped withdraw. I pull the money out. I call the bank and am told the account will be closed and to dispose of my debit card. Now! 4-5 years later I have been informed the account was not closed when trying to get my name on a account for a family member. It has been reported to my credit that I abused the account and have overdraft. Making me high risk. I call the bank and am told they don’t know why the account wasn’t closed but that I owe $37.54. That’s abuse?????? But they also did not state why I owed that amount when it was told to me the account would be closed. Then I get a phone number to call to get more info but she isn’t answering her phone, it goes straight to voicemail. This is insanity.
