Sky Transmission and Automotive in Jonesboro, AR was paid $700 in addition to tax to install a transmission in a 2011 Ford Mustang V6 in September of 2023. The total payment comes out to $860 because the vehicle had to be towed. Invoice #*********. Upon receiving the vehicle from Sky Transmission, the vehicle was leaking transmission fluid and showing a check engine light. Following this, I contacted Sky Transmission by phone and communicated the issues I was having with the vehicle. Sky Transmission was then paid an additional $50 to inspect the transmission and diagnose the issue. I was contacted by Sky Transmission and told the problems were indicative of a bad transmission. Following this event, I had the vehicle repaired at a separate shop, ***** **** *** ******, costing upwards of $400 in related repairs including reseating the transmission and replacing the broken upstream 02 sensor caused by Sky Transmission. Today, 5/2/24, I have contacted Sky Transmission and was told by **** that although he admits with the proof I have provided that Sky Transmission is at fault for the broken 02 sensor, he is refusing to do anything to make the situation right. Sky Transmission refuses to offer any resolution. I wish to be compensated for the price of the 02 sensor installation ($186.43) and the vehicle diagnosis fee ($50) as Sky Transmission damaged my vehicle and failed to do their job. I am trying to attach the receipt for both Sky Transmission and the repair completed by ***** **** *** ****** but I am having techinical issues. If these documents are needed I can provide them. **** alleges that had I taken the car to him he would have fixed it free of charge, however I did take the car to Sky Transmission and they failed to diagnose the issue. Additionally, I am only requesting compensation for the damaged 02 sensor and diagnosis fee.Business response

I certainly hate that you had a poor experience with us here at Sky Transmissions. Had you followed the guidelines that are clearly laid out in the paperwork that you signed when you dropped off your vehicle, none of these issues would be a problem. It clearly states if you have a problem with any work that we have done you can bring it back to us and we will fix it free of charge. It also clearly states that if you take it to another shop the warranty on that work is null and void because we do not know what they do or don’t do. It also states that we will not cover any charges accrued by any other automotive shop. You said you knew of the pinched o2 sensor before taking it to the other shop, so instead of taking it to another shop and having it fixed and requesting us to pay their fees you could have brought it to us and you would have been fixed up in 30 minutes, free of charge. Also, Sky Transmissions and Automotive takes no responsibility for this issue because once again we did not see the said issue in our shop. You are only complaining of this issue 8 MONTHS AFTER THE WORK WAS DONE INITIALLY. I’m sorry but the other shop could have replaced the transmission and pinched the o2 sensor. Because when we diagnosed the vehicle the second time you had a transmission leak and the transmission was having issues. Had the o2 sensor been pinched for 8 months you would have began having issues long before now. So please understand this is the way a business operates. We fix the work we complete if there are issues. If you wait 8 months and then decide to take it somewhere else that’s on you. Also just a word of advice if you do not stop with the childish games and false accusations against us we will have no other choice than to take legal recourse against you for slander, harassment and damages. We do not like to resort to these measures but enough is enough. We fully admit that yes we do make mistakes, we are only human and for that matter we agree to fix and cover charges for any mistakes we may make. It’s called WARRANTY. But there are proper channels to follow. If you were to buy a vehicle from a dealership with a bad motor and take it somewhere else to get the motor replaced , do you think they would pay for another mechanic to replace it? No, they would not. Because the warranty they offer, covers their time and their parts , not someone else’s.Customer response

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because:I payed for a transmission inspection and Sky Transmission failed to notice or correct the damaged 02 sensor they caused.
Sincerely,
