8/28/23 my daughter (***** ******) signed up and was beginning Barber College at Northern Technical College in NLR, AR where ******* ********* ***** is the owner. The issue was my daughter was told and I saw on the paperwork they accepted Financial Aide, well after 2 months of attending I kept asking my daughter if they stated anything about financial aid because FAFSA told me the school is the one that pushes everything through. On or around September 25 the students were told that in order to get financial aide they have to have 500 hours and that they're financial aid was through TFC Tuition, well none of this was discussed upon admission. I feel it was fraudlant/scam information as why would financial aid needed be on the application of the student if they weren't offering it. My daughter attended this school for 2 months and to be told that a permit would be order and it was not and then to discover that because of this if transferring to another Barber College she would have to start all over. What person goes somewhere for a period of time to be told well you wont be getting those hours because the request for a permit was never turned in. Something is not right with this and Northern Technical College and ******* ********* ***** should be held accountable. Nothing they stated that was to be delivered was delivered, the students did not get the kits or anything they only got disappointed for false claims to becoming a Barber from what I'm thinking is not even an accredited school. I am writing on my daughters behalf because I was concerned about the financial aid taking 2 months to be valid. I am a witness to her going up there to the school and signing up and I looked at all the paperwork for nothing to happen but wasted time. To this day the contracts have not been returned/neither has the paperwork that any of the students signed.Business response

Our financial aid is a full loan that a student has to take out with a private company. The loan payments start the next following month. We wait 500 hours to ensure the student enjoys the program before they apply for a debt and payment starts immediately. This was explained to ensure everyone understood which was probably the reason for the drop. The student hours can be certified but the student needs to come in. ***** ****** hours are transferable to another barber school. The school will gladly certify her hours she received for her. The student sent a text message and stated she wouldn’t be back. No monies was ever paid and she was allowed to keep the items she received from the school. This student came at night 3 nights a week from 5-9pm. From Aug to mid October . We will gladly certify her hours at no charge. She dropped unofficially. Have her contact Mrs. ******* who will gladly do this for her at no cost on hours received.
