Paid $500 for repairs on Wednesday, vehicle was back in the same non working predicament on Friday. I was not told a price of the parts/labor before the work was done. I was charged $140 for a $60 coil pack. They’re recommending me what parts I should buy without further diagnosing. The mechanic even lied and said that he didn’t give me a heads up on the prices because I hung up the phone on him. I don’t typically leave any reviews at all so please please do your research before spending your money.

Mr ***** brought his 2007 jeep wrangler to me asking if we could fix an electrical issue he was referred by another shop. I agreed and we started to diagnose the issue the vehicle had multiple cylinder misfires due to a bad ignition coil and spark plugs wires. The number 3 cylinder plug wire  was arching off of the primary ignition coil which then caused the coil to melt and malfunction after speaking with Mr ***** I suggested we replace both parts upon which he agreed. After installing the new parts misfires ceased and then we could evaluate the electrical issue. We found that the signal wire to the starter was shorted out in which we replaced the wire and secured it to the harness Mr ***** approved of this repair. After fixing the faulty wire we test drove the vehicle and found no trouble codes correlating with the repair I then call Mr ***** and informed him he would need a new battery upon which he denied service for this repair his battery had gotten hot and expanded causing acid to leak from the battery most likely caused by the signal wire a 12v positive wire being ground to the bell housing. I then spoke to Mr ***** and asked if I could keep the vehicle an extra day in order to confirm our repairs in which he agreed, we then proceeded to test drive the vehicle 3 more times with no troubles codes becoming present the next day we hadn’t had any issue from the vehicle I called him and notified  him that it was ready he came and picked up the vehicle on Thursday paid me for the repairs and signed the invoice Tuesday of the following week he called and notified me the vehicle was running rough and upset about the money he paid and the mark up of the parts, if this was an issue he should have stated that before paying me and signing the invoice. He asked what it could possibly be I told him it could have another electrical issue that we would need to check everything again and check the pcm for proper signals in which he replied so I need a pcm I said no sir we would need to test it, he then demanded his money be refunded in which I denied and asked if he would like us to look at the vehicle again and I reminded him his parts were under warranty, he denied. And said he wasn’t bringing it back and he would have his bank refund his money. That was the last I spoke to Mr *****.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because: The prices of the parts were not discussed before installation as promised before any work began. I should not be paying twice for the same problem on the vehicle. The jeep came in with a check engine code of P2308. I picked the jeep up on Thursday. Due to my work schedule, I was not able to drive and test the vehicle until Friday evening, which is when the check engine light came back on with the same exact code P2308. I called Donnie’s back as soon as the business opened that following week to explain the issue. I didn’t wait any extra business day, I called first thing after the weekend. I mentioned to the manager that this was bad business practice and he said that he doesn’t care because he will still make money. Like he mentioned, I didn’t have a problem paying the $500 because I thought the work was completed and done right. I work hard everyday, I don’t have $500 to throw away because you misdiagnosed an issue. It is not fair at all. I didn’t leave the review out of spite, I don’t want anyone to go through what I went through with losing out on money and still not having a working vehicle.

      Sincerely,

      ***** *****
