On 6/26/23, we took ****** and ****** to the groomers. That was Shaggie Chic, as we had done so many times. We had no concerns, we had always been told our 6.5 ***************** ( ******) and our 8.1 lb ****** (shii poo) had done great! No problems. When we first started ****** was a little anxious. But we hadn't heard about it lately. We had been going there, this was our second season. But on this day when we came to pick them up. The owner came out with ****** and said she had injured her nail at the quick and had managed to stop the bleeding. She said that nail was not worked on, just shaved around. So we trusted her, we paid and left. Once home, ****** was hiding, as she does when something is wrong. So we decided to take her to the ******************** That is my Vet in ***********. The vet acknowledged that there was swelling in the finger of that nail. He asked if I wanted to do an x-ray (still trusting my groomer.) I asked if the swelling could possibly be caused by the nail issue. He said it could but there also could be a bone. He said it was 50/50. So I decided to wait over the weekend and watch her. He wrapped it, gave her pain meds and antibiotics. After the weekend it convinced me that she needed x- rays. So I called on Monday they said I could come in, in the afternoon they x-rayed her. The next morning they called with the results, her toe behind the nail was fractured(broke in half) We took her in that day to have the toe splinted and wrapped. From then on we have been following the vets orders. We summer in ********* so we had to continue the treatment here. In the meantime I have kept Shaggy Chic in the loop. The whole time from the day I picked her up from grooming and took her to the vet. To what I found out, to the fact that I submitted the vet bills to my insurance first. The balances is all that I am asking to be reimbursed. But from the very beginning she ( the owner *******) has denied fault, even going as far as blaming ******. As well as disparaging my ********** clinic. Everything she said is down on texts.
