I contracted with company for a double gate in front and a single gate in back.It was to include 3 lips on bottom of gates.**** assured me he was meticulous with his work and took great pride in his product.He installed the back gate Dec 22/23. When I got home on 23rd I looked at gate and texted questions to **** concerning the rough paint and the lip that had not been placed yet. With no response, I texted once more on Monday. **** showed up on Tues Dec 27. When I asked again about the rough spots in paint and if the lip was going to be added, he became angry and started telling me I had been riding his a** since the start of our business...who did I think I was..etc. I had to call my daughter over because he was very intimidating. I went inside and let him finish while my daughter and his partner talked.When he said he was done I questioned about the two bottom lips that were not installed and about quality and uniformity of wood slats. His partner said that "we went through a lot of boards at lowes, we could go through a bunch more but there is always some that are not good." I was still very intimidated, he would not even talk to me so I paid her the other half of the money with ***********After my daughter and I looked over gates, I texted and told **** I did want the job finished (the lips) and I would like him to replace a few boards that were not uniform.He said he would put on lips next week and the boards he could change for an additional charge and he would not guarantee they would not be warped.I went on ******** city chat and gave a mixed review. Good welding job, back gate boards were great, paint job and boards in front gate were not. Many comments and discussion. **** saw it on ******** and sent text that because I put a review up that tarnished his company he would not be coming out to finish job. I don't feel comfortable for him to come back on my property, but because the lips were part of estimate, I want a partial refund.
