June 2020 roughly,I had just been at *************************** for a few months due to the fact I was homeless because of pandemic. ******* just out of being off Lockdown. I was looking for work in the local area of ************************. No one was hiring due to pandemic and lockdown. I had call up local bike shops to see if Sponsorship or donation was available for homeless Veterans, none was there. I had one last bike shop to call it was Spartan Bikes. I asked for the Manager or the Owner if they were available so I can ask them personally. Front desk person put ******* on the line along with her husband in which i told them i was a homeless veteran seeking help with a bike for transportation for VA Appointments, looking for work. Husband heard my story then told his wife ******* to see what she can do to help me with a bike since they only sold Kona bikes. i didnt know what a kona was. i am only familiar with mongoose etc. As i was telling ******* my story of being homeless she agreed that sponsorship was available since i was a homeless veteran. i offered her My DD 214, address staying at motel 6 provided to me by ** state *************** So within 90 i was able to call ******* on the status on the Kona bike, her answer was that she still looking for other sponsors to help her with the money since Kona bikes were expensive. a few more weeks go by same answer, need a few more sponsors to get the bike so i can have mode of transportation. Finally after 4-5 months, i had one finally call with *******, her answer was bike too expensive for me. if it breaks down i don't have the money to fix it. no other sponsors available to help on the full cost of the bike to be given to me. So, after all that time waiting on ******* and husband to help me with a bike never happened. I patiently waited for the help from ******* on verbal agreement her help was solid on my sponsor/ donation was guarantee of me being A homeless veteran. seeking help because every business in city is normal.
