I am writing to report a series of incidents that occurred at Planet Fitness, involving the assistant manager, *****, and subsequent interactions with the head manager, ****.Initially, my relationship with the assistant manager was professional and seemingly supportive. He had encouraged my return to fitness and facilitated my hiring as a personal trainer at the facility. However, on March 28, during a workout session at EOS, ***** unexpectedly expressed a sexual interest in me, which I declined. Despite my polite refusal, his behavior towards me changed drastically, culminating in a disturbing incident on April 1.On April 1st, while I was conducting a training session with a client, ***** approached me aggressively on the gym floor and verbally assaulted me in front of clients. He accused me of neglecting a new client, using highly inappropriate and offensive language. This confrontation not only shocked the client I was training but also visibly disturbed another gym member who observed his hostile demeanor. Upon checking, the issue was indeed a result of a booking system error, indicating that *****'s outburst was not only unwarranted but also an abuse of his managerial position.I immediately submitted a four-week notice to *****, during which he responded with unexpected enthusiasm, which indicated a retaliatory stance towards me due to my earlier rejection of his advances. I reported the initial sexual advance to the head manager, ****, who initially promised to investigate, but instead offered me an opportunity for an eight-hour training session with a prominent trainer. This was an attempt to placate me and divert attention from the serious issues I raised.These actions from ***** and **** created an environment that was unsafe and unwelcoming. The response to these incidents by the management at Planet Fitness has been grossly inadequate, reflecting a lack of serious commitment to addressing harassment and maintaining a professional workplace.
