This company is illegally keeping my deposit of 1500. I broke my lease under ******* law where if I as a renter can not have a peaceful place to live I can. Countless police reports and ignored text and phone calls of how bad this place was and a week after I left a shooting happened right in front of my old apartment. They ignore every text and phone call I have to reach out to talk to them.

On 1 Nov 2021, I rented a house for 1 year (ended 31 Oct 2022). My security deposit was $3,645. We moved out on 26 Oct 2022 and hired cleaning and carpet-cleaning companies to professionally clean the house (which was in great shape as we lived in it gently while our new home was being built, getting by with just the bare necessities). We were told a walk-thru inspection would occur but they would not tell me when, as I also wanted to be present. That house looked as new as it did the day it was first built. Lotus not only kept our deposit, they are charging me an additional $845. The list of deductions from my depost include yard clean-up (we did it), house cleaning (we hired it out), house paint (we painted all scuffed walls), carpet steam-cleaning (we hired it out). This shows the lack of integrity, greed and crooked nature of Lotus Real Estate. I will edit this post (if possible) when they resolve this issue by refunding my deposit.

House needs complete painting, lots of dogs hairs on baseboards, tenant seemed to have done several drywall repairs all repairs done by tenant needs to be redone to match texture, garage needs painting and entry door from garage needs door seal, driveway & garage needs pressure washing as it has several oil stains, kitchen needs cleaning on cabinetry and house will need pre cleaning prior to painting due the high amount of dog hair and dust on baseboards, front door deadbolt key does not seem to work. All keys & garage remote left by tenant are inside a kitchen cabinet.

Per ******* Revised Statute, landlords are NOT allowed to deduct fair wear and tear from a refundable deposit.  I left a hundreds-of-dollars deposit for pets.  And although this house WAS left in a very clean condition, INCLUDING THE CABINETS! there may have been dog hair on a base board.  THAT IS WHAT THE NON REFUNDALBLE PET DEPOSIT WAS FOR! We were never given the option to come and make anything right or better.  We were not allowed to be at the final inspection, so that they could lie about the extent of cleanup/repairs needed.   Still no resolution was offered.
